nath 134 Report post Posted October 22, 2022 Hi guys i have purchased a full 420g m3 evo conversion for my E36 Alpina B3 3.2 switchtronic. Provided I follow through with it some time- will there be issues with programming the ECU, considering it isn't a bog standard ECU or a common one? I will have a professional undertake the work. cheers nath
Eagle 1662 Report post Posted October 23, 2022 Wouldn't think so as they would surely use the same MS41 DME as BMW (with custom mapping obviously)

Thanks- this is the kind of thing I won't put up with, it has to be 100% or nothing.

Mine had that after converting it, even with a light flywheel. Was a real PITA.

That comes down to the experience\skill of the person doing that side of the conversion. From my understanding rev hang can be eliminated by changing deceleration ignition timing values. I don't why MS41 seems to have an issue over the later MS43, they seem to operate the same auto\manual switch over when coding, clearing adaptions and aligning EWS, maybe some conversions arent doing this?
