Kodachrome 151 Report post Posted November 5, 2023 Just picked up a 740i e32. I've a budget allocated for tuning, maintenance etc but I hadn't planned on the significant lacquer peel this has. Sections the size of a4 sheets on every panel! What is a reasonable fix, price wise, for this, either diy or paying someone (wellington area)?

Depending on quality of original paint, or if it is original paint, you can sand back the entire panel and re clear coat it yourself. BMW did use a lot of paint back then so that is a help. Maybe start on the least visible part and see how you get on, you don't have anything to loose, worst case you have to have it re-done professionally. 1
