BMTHUG 1055 Report post Posted December 26, 2023 (edited) Acquired this a couple months ago and just got it back on the road. Bought it de-registered and all it required was a right front door and driver's side guard, some paint and repair cert for compliance. Got it all done and dusted, complied, registered and some RUCs for 7k all up which I am not complaining about. She has been a beautiful car. All I have added thus far is a front splitter and the mirror caps which I bought online for measly dollars. Will be updating this as I go along my journey. It came on these factory 19 inch wheels but looking to get some 3 piece 20 inch wheels for it and lower it a tad on H&R super sport springs. Currently doing 117k and will go up as I commute - a lot! Here's some pics Edited January 20 by BMTHUG
BMTHUG 1055 Report post Posted January 6 (edited) Had a lovely festive season away. Very impressed with this vehicle. It is absolutely incredible on fuel. I was getting around 4.6 litres per hundred ks open road and it felt so refined and comfortable on the drives. I clocked up around 2000ks of driving which was beautiful! BMTHUG 1055 Report post Posted January 20 (edited) Moved north of bridge last weekend and we spent the week with my eldest for school holidays at our new place in Waitoki. Finally got a chance to clean the car today and the weather put on for me too. Some freshly washed pics in her new stable. Love rural north Auckland so much. Missing the mountains and sea views of my old place in Miranda but this is the only view I need. 😍 P.S apologies for the clutter. I haven't had a chance to sort the yard tools etc yet haha Edited January 20 by BMTHUG
Neil McCauley 394 Report post Posted January 20 Looks great SJ! Is that the factory M-Performance front lip? Wish I had as many container sheds as that, place looks mean.

It's aftermarket and so is the wing mirror caps. I have a rear lower valance and the rear wing coming at the end of the month too. Yeah the containers are cool! So many options for what to do with them. Haha
BMTHUG 1055 Report post Posted February 19 I have been neglecting this one since I got the e30 and this is meant to be my daily haha. I will be using it soon but it's off to get tinted tomorrow at a place called Studio Finish in Browns bay. They do some beautiful tinting, PPF and high end Vehicle wrapping etc. Think Aston Martin DB9 and Rolls Royce Phantoms, Bentley etc
BMTHUG 1055 Report post Posted February 27 Okay so got some rims off a mate for free. They were sitting in his garage and had the correct specs for the f30. Fronts are 20x8.5 et 35 and rears are 20x9.5 et40. Put them on yesterday and gave it a massive detail with Luxxio cleaning and detailing products. They are a local business here in Wairau Valley, North Shore and I decided to give their products a whirl. My lord! I am beyond impressed. I used their car wash and their speedy shine formula as well as Formula X wheel cleaner. The pictures speak for themselves. The car is cleaner and has a more deep shine than it ever did. Not to mention the speed shine stuff is very hydrophobic. I was getting water beading off the car effortlessly. Let me know everyone's thoughts. I love this car so much but she was getting jealous as all my affection was directed at the e30 since I got it. About time I gave it some love. Also if anyone is interested in the Luxxio products, here is a link. I was a loyal Meguirs man before today but I am totally converted. I love supporting local businesses. https://luxxio.co.nz/shop/
balancerider 757 Report post Posted February 27 ooof I imagine 20's + non-adaptive m sport suspension + NZ roads is an interesting combo 😬. I've been eyeing up a set of the forged m performance 20's on TM but not sure if I want to go there or not, 30-profile rears may be a step too far.
E30 325i Rag-Top 2956 Report post Posted February 28 @balancerider to be honest I didn’t notice a huge difference in terms of ride between 19s with run flats and 20s without on the F30s. The tyres for the 19s were pretty skinny to start with, so not like you are losing a massive amount of sidewall going to 20s. Didn’t need to keep adjusting the suspension settings, but most of it was crawling to work on the commute in comfort with only the odd spirited drive in Sports mode. I might have been in denial as I wanted to stay with the 20s, but even being honest it was hard to tell.

Mine actually rides a bit better and the speedo is now 100 percent accurate according to GPS. it was over-reading 2kph before. haha I love how it rides without the run-flats. I personally think the 20's suit the F30 chassis quite a bit more because of how big and aggressive the F30 looks. I have actually listed it for sale as the wedding plans have had the whole schedule moved up a bit so it must go now. I will not sell the E30 no matter what and I can always replace the F30 later on this year. My father-in-law-to-be has stage 4 cancer so it's tightened up our timeline quite a bit to sort everything incase something happens to him. Also I am running 255/35/20 on the rear and 245/30/20 on the front and I live rural and the country roads are quite sketchy at times and this has handled it fine the last few days. I am happy with it
balancerider 757 Report post Posted February 28 Thanks @E30 325i Rag-Top - good intel. I was going to get the 19’s refurbed anyway as the diamond cut finish is wrecked so I could always run round on the 20’s for a month or two. Those aren’t stock tire sizes for the 20’s I don’t think @BMTHUG

Those aren’t stock tire sizes for the 20’s I don’t think @BMTHUG No they aren't dude. But after some calculations regarding the speedo error vs offsets and widths these are the sizes I decided. The 20s will look good! I am selling the vehicle now unfortunately. My wedding is fast approaching and my finds are tied up in property so I can't sell that quick enough to ensure I have the adequate funds to make the wedding in the UK happen the way we want it to. Tough decisions but I will look at getting a 330d at the end of the year
