That's different.

There are paints with varying flexibilities - a thin layer of a water-based wash might be the best bet.

white spray paint ...

tire manufactures that use white lettering eg BF Goodrich .. actually use a white rubber for the side wall construction. the black rubber is then layed over the top and the letter is stamped out of the black rubber to show the white underneath
