oldskool 4 Report post Posted February 24, 2007 No contest, Alpina is nice but unless its a twin turbo b10, which this is not (TT LHD only) e34 m5 best 5 except for e38 m5 and even then some guys I know of still pine for their old e34's m5 is the best bemmer I have ever owned, but then I am biased Brent is on the money for the Alpina, guy is way to rich on that one

allan 295 Report post Posted February 24, 2007 (edited) hi p1-m3 Is it a look see situation or a bit more? from a laymans view and what i payed for my 02 530i 56,100k's. m5 1991 done 166,000km it's 16 years old $22,000, 3 owners Alpina B10 1988 240,00km its 19 years old $25,000 3 owners They seem over the top price wise on age and k's , forget all the frilly bits. When all said and done a car's price is set by what you as a buyer is prepared to pay for it. Edited February 24, 2007 by allan

kiwi535 538 Report post Posted February 25, 2007 All M5s (except the current one) will be manual,so thats nothing. The M5 will be potentially more expensive to own and maintain, the Alpina is basically a chipped and ported and cammed 535 It would be the M5 for me too,but i dont think they are worth that sort of money.A 3.8 6 speed maybe... Jazzbass 1 Report post Posted February 25, 2007 Neither hold any appeal to me, but since you posed the question as a 'pick one' - if I had to, it'd be the M5. I suppose I could convert it to an auto.
