1 pointHi all just documenting a few things I am doing to my E30. Have owned it for a while now. Story was it started its life as a auto 2L owned by a sweet old lady that lived out at Huia. Bought it off her a year and a half ago and stuck with it until now. Body is quite rough but i got it for a really good price. Enjoy! We will jump ahead a little, my friends and I finished the manual conversion and also installed Koni sport shocks with lowering springs and a thicker front sway bar. Got some wheels and tires and this cool front lip. Got some smilies, blacked them want to get french yellows for the highbeams at some point. Bought a Rogue short shifter and made a DSSR at work for it Bought some 16" BBS wheels put them on to see how they ride, if they rubbed much and what not. Then sh*t started to get really serious. (Thanks ray@Hellbm) Installed the Shifter rod and shifter to see how it worked. Some rust being attended to Goodies arriving Factory Honing marks FTW Cleaned and painted so while that got taken care of I got on with other things... These 2 had a date with degreaser and a hose Moved house, this is where the magic will happen Starting on the manifolds also started prepping the m20 for removal All done, didn't take long maybe half and hour? Starting to pull the motor Its coming up Built in load leveler FTW! Its coming up! All about angle And out. Le me in engine bay pic (Big thanks to marcus who helped a lot with this) Fitted the Clio booster and Condor engine mounts Then this magically appeared So we got on with putting it in Adjusting the angle I had a fever, so i took many things to keep me going. Getting there Ahh its in. Ahh no its not. That's better. I don't know how to embed. I got it wired up, didn't take very long. Maybe 2 days of trouble shooting, but its was all simple things that i overlooked. http://youtu.be/0vT7jQQLmbw And now we are here. Things to do Throttle cable down pipes Thanks for looking! :thumb:

1 pointGet ready to pay the 400 notes...no excuses. Your original licence was obviously not from a listed country and you were required to sit a practical test to have the supervisor condition removed, and you didn't. Read this from NZTA : Practical testYou do not have to sit the practical test if: you have a licence from Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, South Africa, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, the United Kingdom or the United States of America, and your licence is current (or has expired within the last 12 months), and you have held that licence for more than two years. You may need to provide proof of the issue date of your overseas licence. You do have to sit the practical test if: you have a licence from a country not listed above, or you have a licence from a country which is listed above but you have held that licence for less than two years, or you have a licence from Hong Kong or South Korea and you are converting a heavy traffic licence. What happens if I pass the theory test? When you have passed the theory test requirements, you will be issued with a New Zealand driver licence. If you have been issued with a New Zealand driver licence you will no longer be able to use your overseas driver licence for driving in New Zealand. What is a supervisor condition? If your New Zealand driver licence has been issued with any conditions, you must adhere to them. For example, if you are required to pass the practical test and have not yet done so, you will have a supervisor* condition. This means you must be accompanied by a supervisor at all times when you drive. *A supervisor is a person who: holds a current full New Zealand driver licence for the class of vehicle has held their full New Zealand driver licence (or an equivalent overseas driver licence) for at least two years, and does not have a supervisor condition on their New Zealand licence. If you are converting a motorcycle licence you do not need to have a supervisor. You will be issued with a learner motorcycle licence and will need to comply with the learner conditions until you pass your practical test and are issued with a full licence. That means you: must ride a LAMS-approved motorcycle (for more information on LAMS see factsheet 28, Learning to ride: getting your motorcycle licence.) must not carry passengers on the motorcycle or in a sidecar must not ride between the hours of 10pm and 5am must not tow another vehicle.

1 pointCan I suggest trying a coffee at Artisan by Rangiora Bakery instead .... shameless plug for my own business ... lol We won 2012 Cafe of the Year for Sth Is so the coffee and food is a step up from the rest
-
1 pointMight be hard pushed to claim that as 'testing quality' though............
-
1 pointHmm, ok, lets try this undiplomatically............cos I'm really confident you're wrong........again....... I've seen it on other full licences................ All NZTA is saying is that hey, its a full licence, but you're too dumb to drive without a supervisor. Same as theres licences for people that are too dumb to drive a manual......... In some ways, there're actually saying a restricted driver is safer between the hours of 5am & 10pm.......... We can go round & round forever on it, but its eating into your car buying time, & umm, you're still gonna end up paying $400 slides........ In the meantime, just means ya gotta take your Mum with ya when you're out driving........ or missus or boyfriend or whoever floats your boat, so long as they've got a FULL NZ LICENCE themselves.......

1 pointThis post has a life of its own Sam...guess what, you and the Kopua Cowboy are driving the vehicles of choice as well !!! The Cowboy is also onto the fruitfly, first postulated here by the good Blue 540...
-
1 pointCrap - may as well make this one longer. It might help to confuse Blue A dent not much worse than your quarter - it was right on the wheel arch, and required a complete rear quarter fitted... in an Accord Wagon painted Pearl Black.
-
1 pointKeep up Sam, he's going to give up on this BMW thing shortly, retire to the country and buy a Citroen....
-
1 pointHow did this get to 16 pages without me reading a post?! Um, but yea good luck finding a nice E36 now days for a good price.

I can always write to him after I get the car and see if I can get them to write it off, maybe I'll send them my license.(I used to have an extra copy). Either you replace the word D with a B, or curses be on yer yapper blue, you want me to ditch another one. the guy hasn't logged into trademe or replied to my messages, waiting for him to get back.. I have cars on my drive way, its just not that car.
