One of my regrets was not buying one new. Three cheers to the guys who purchased new, and drove for free for 10 years. Heck, seeming to continuing to do so. https://www.trademe.co.nz/a/motors/cars/bmw/listing/5329879033?utm_source=tmm-savedsearch&utm_medium=email&bof=8Har5zGj Very nice

Tomorrow I make the collection trip to Eurotech. 5 weeks, which may seem like ages but I was in no rush and Easter/Anzac was in there as well. Here are some of the progress images that they sent through a few weeks back. Insurance paid for a bunch of extras including genuine guard vents and kidney grills, I paid to have the rear bumper refurbished. Having driven the M5 nearly daily for almost 4 years to not having it for 5 weeks I wonder what that first angry stab is going to feel like.

@Driftit Yeah I bought it back recently after not seeing it since I sold it in 2012..I’m filming that process too. Will be doing it 90’s street/shakotan style. @deedub I’ll be taking it for a Wof next week hopefully, so keep an eye out! Will be driving it as much as I can

The only others I've seen recently were low Ks (around 50-60k mark I think) on the clock and asking between $80k-$100k.

That thing is classy AF. What's the general feeing on 1M resale / purchasing... there's not a huge amount of recent history to go on.

Yeah have seen that guy, one of his cars has been brought into Nz, a blue s65 swapped one. Met both owners of the s65 clones the other week, the cars look fantastic in person.

Yeah i want to see that one. There is a finnish(?) guy i follow on Instagram who builds them all the time with V8 swaps. He V10 swapped a TVR but sadly binned it shortly after

Some more progress over the last week or so. Stripped all the suspension out, arms, struts, steering rack, front and rear subframe a, diff handbrake cables etc have all been removed. Masked up the engine bay and have begun painting the underside. Just using black Epoxy paint, any spots where there was minor surface rust wire wheeled back to clean metal. Will go over any seams with seam sealer and then do another coat of black epoxy. Very time consuming and messy process but will be worthwhile. Have done the first coat on the front wheel arches and underside of engine bay so far, lots more painting to do. also made up a new Clevis pin to adapt the e30 brake booster bracket thing that the pedal pull rod actuates to the e90 booster.

I also recommend this approach, worked well to get some tyres down to ChCh from N.I.

Give the car a weekend run and go pick them up

I had a set sent down on a pallet for $180 using 4d Freight. Might be cheaper to Auckland.

I see on your profile you're from Rotorua. Look forward to seeing this around once it is on the road.
