Well, after much thought, time and research, i'm about to attack this project of mine. As some may remember, this car was my Brothers, King Arthur, i think was his user name building a 1000hp Turbo project. Since my brother passed away last year, he gave this car to me, and only asked me to put it back together. As much as i want to run it with Forced Induction, that won't be happening just yet, and i'm now in the process of putting her back on the road, it'll be a long arduous task, but well worth the experience, and i want to do this for my big brother ?. ( we'll hit that turbo E36 soon...do not worry )... So, Let's do this ??

New and with with alu end tanks to boot. Purdy... Thanks to @richard for a good deal and great chat! He even threw in a fan cowl which I needed and some ancillaries I can probably reuse. Now, just gotta get that fan off!

I'm sure the showroom isn't the right place to chronicle my endeavours with my new-to-me e36 328i so I'm going to dump my load in this thread instead. I have no grand plans for this, it was cheap and in pretty average condition but it's a good (enough) base for a point-to-point daily driver for me. I was originally thinking of a 318 for cost reasons but when this 6 cylinder popped up for a couple of grand I couldn't say no even though I knew it would need another thousand or so (hopefully not much more!) thrown at it to get it to a serviceable state. It's a Jap import with the glorious Jatco auto. Here she is in her original glory: First thing I did was swap out the wheels with my track ones (and semi slicks, vroom!):

Has anyone in Wellington had their N54 intake ports cleaned? If so where in Welly and how much. Tried Jeff Gray and the Service manager said he had never heard of the process and was very skeptical that it needed to be done.

Hello there! So, before i go and waste some money on a set of Adjustable Suspension, i thought it would be in my best interest to ask some of you guys, what is the best bang for your buck? The pros and cons? What am i doing? Ok, so i'm "wanting" to install adjustable suspension on an E36 6cyl Coupe. I'm desiring a specific look to the car, will attach an image, it'll be quite low, "Not retarded STANCE LOW" , hahaha, that i do not mean to offend anyone that likes that stance look BTW. Sitting on BBS RC302's, and i want the option to adjust such settings, ride height etc. I've seen a few on Trademe, but i'm not sure what is the right one for me? I am setting the car up as a daily driver, and possible odd track day... BC Gold, D2, Bilstein, Koni, XYZ, Yellowspeed? There's a lot more, have any of you guys used such setups on a daily driver E36? Any negative / positive reviews about drivability / practicality? Worth the money? What brand is best? hopefully these questions don't sound silly haha, but i need to ask before buying so i can make a better informed choice with the many options on the market. I've had Bilsteins, standard Sport suspension, just a lovely setup for E36 cars, so that i do know and have experienced that particular manufacturer's product. Any advice and input is greatly appreciated, Cheers Gents.

You can't swap caps between blocks- the caps are line bored as a set with the block

Make sure you ground it properly and use a good quality type coolant...I would suggest flush the system and use 3 bottles of BMW coolant.

Arghh! It looks the business though! I was looking at something like this from CES motorsport in the U.S....Wilwoods are worth a fair bit, for a complete setup, that's just awesome haha. Will you be converting it to manual or keep it as auto ?

Cheers bud, hoping it'll turn out okay for a thrash around auto lol! The rad came from a BS member here Richard. He got it new but wasn't suitable for his (cool) race car build so was just gathering dust in his (cool) workshop. And if you think this is sweet you should see his BBK... lust. 6 pot Wilwoods front and rear. They're absolutely massive and and for only $2k. OMG!!!

Yeah still running the 220 that is screwed, hopefully will have some more money around Xmas and will do a new clutch plate and box, along with diff/LSD. Plans to do a wide body like the felony form are also possible to run my wide Ac schnitzer rims.

It also helps if you have a strong arm to pump all the new trans oil in It even took me a long time!

Its an easy job except for getting the fluid amount correct. It has to be done at a certain temperature to get the level right which is pretty tricky.
