    For $10k

GTS-T, although I have seen Caldina GT-4's for $13k, so I'd just wait for another $3k and get one of those.
  2. Notice that lovely CF intake. 340hp, 6 speed hollinger sequential 318i ex british touring car.
  3. Speaking of, I just had a set of 4 thrown on mine, which are also really good. Just as grippy as my Pilot's and much much quieter. Definately recommend Potenza GIII's http://www.bridgestone.com.au/tyres/produc...treads/gIII.asp
  4. Looks like the suspension sprung back out, if it didnt and those are busted he's in for a not pretty repair bill.
  5. Was swapping some emails with a guy Andreas in sweden who said his is also in there, 750hp or so on the M50? How detailed is the article with the specs and parts that were used on the M50 engines? (mostly the info that I'm after)
  6. Done, thanks for the info. Looking forward to reading about the FI M50
  7. Cool, they only have full subscriptions available on their website, any big chains deal with it? I'm only after the one issue.
  8. Does anyone in NZ sell this? I'm trying to get ahold of Augusts edition
  9. $10k will get you a fairly good E36 M3 engine out of germany (not counting shipping). E46 would probably run you $20k+
  10. Yup, people are bloody hot when it comes to missing laptops. Any good service agent will start getting sus if y ou go in trying to buy things like a Ac adapter for it.
  11. If they work the same as a Compaq (which is quite probable) you'll find inside the screen casing a high voltage inverter (or something along those lines) on a circut board which drives the LCD screen. You'll basically need to go through and find out with it in bits how much power is being supplied to that circut from the connector on the motherboard (probably around the right hand hinge). There should be two connectors from the motherboard to the screen, you can trace back from the LCD circuit which wires are your power. No idea how you'd interface the signal. In short, lots of work, probably more than its worth. If you really really want a LCD screen in your car, go buy something like an Acer which has Svideo composites and all the other connectors already on it, should be about $700-800 and its a damn nice screen.
  12. It means that your due for a general inspection, it pops up after a certian length of distance but also depends how hard you drive your car. Take it in to a BMW place, they will run thru a checklist then have for inspections and reset the inspection counter. I think its 4 (or 3) inspections inbetween a service. It staggers from 3/4 inspections service, then another 3/4 inspections and then a "service 2". Service 2 being the same as the first but with extra bits like brake rotors. I have the service book at home and can tell you what they run through if you like.
  13. I'm not sure if you need a Cert or not, but info about suspension modification for LVC is at Linkage

Thats true, I forgot about that.... why do I see a "Dodgy mod of the week" thread in the future?
  16. 10% discount or so on parts & labor (depending where you go), so it pays for itself pretty quick if you deal with someone on their list
  17. BMW Club Fill out the join form. They also have the discount list on there under member services.

    Badgers

Yea I've seen it, its pretty traumatizing stuff
  19. Not that all BMW center prices are bad. If your taking your car to one, get a BMWCC membership, cause I'm damn sure since I got one I've been undercharged more than I should have on various bits. Safe to say its definately more than paid for itself... several times over...

I have seen a video of someone trying to tape together a hole in an intercooler pipe after they got some air on a jump/motorway offramp.... (not in NZ tho)
  21. I did ask when I collected my car from the body shop how much a full respray would cost, and was quoted around $3.5k which is a bit more than I expected. I'll wait til I get my E30 project to an acceptable stage before looking seriously at the E36, but all I can see in its future at the moment is M3 style mirrors, angel eyes and some ACS rims, and getting something done to tidy up the brake calipers a bit. Trying to spread money around several bmw's is going to be interesting but hey, its worth it
  22. Yea, I'll be ripping those plates off soon and sticking on euro plates. Not too sure on removing the pinstripe but I probably will
  23. Naw, I think its german for "Damn its so damn sexy when clean I just dont know what to do with myself but gets dirty easy"
