  1. surely running 98 would allow you advance the timing more than 95 would though? and give you an increase in economy?

Yes, thats right. The economy is better when cruising at a good pace, engine runs so much better tho, fueling/timing optimised to an old(like it's owner) engine.

  2. does the E 34 benefit from 98??but you are chipped and afm delete arent you??

No chip remember, MapEcu 2, laptop programming.

Only benefits because of timing advanced 8-9 degrees at top end of rev range.Map has ability to run 2 diff maps, i could tune a map on 91 or 95 and have that also and just switch over at will.

I am not getting the full benefit of 98 because my engine is completely stock, 10:1 compression would boost pwr considerably.

post-1048-1208491872_thumb.jpg The numbers denote the amount of advance over stock, 0=stock, 2= 2 deg advance, etc etc.

    post-1048-1208492574_thumb.jpg 3-D version.

  4. Interesting article ... they are a little wrong around M3 stuff not fitting the non m models. it does .. you have to either widen the guards (as I have) or mold the front bumper and rear bumper to fit. Side skirts will bolt striaght on.

Article spans E21-E46, Total BMW & BMW Car are both good mags.

Any idea which manual box you can fit to an E46 330i?

  5. yes, no i think it will fit, the flange on the turbo will sit closer to the front so it wont be in the way of the sterring colum. other than that i will just do the rest my self.

i think ive got my piggyback system sussd out. someone earlier on said to go for a "map-ecu" (a brand by the way) but they have two models available. ones alot cheaper than the other and i was wondering if it would do the job. please tell me if this is so asap.

    thanks

Hey dude, i said go for Mapecu 2. This gives advance & retard control of your timing as well as the fuel control + you can run additional injectors plus a host of other stuff.Read up on it.

I'm running Map2 on my stock M30 engine, if you look overseas everyone does custom fuel/timing mapping now.

Dump the crap AFM and go MAP.

You have to make decisions on your project that are sound, go for the best your budget can afford. You need accurate info, my mapping is in the gallery.

  6. Yes, it's an awesome car. I had a look at the demo in Conti's when they were re-doing the Ferrari showroom.

Looks superb in the flesh. Wait for the next Quattroporte when it comes out. With a 4.7l Ferrari V8.

Automotive Art, stunning interiors also, Pininfarina Style.

Bangle lacks all that is present in that car.
