Nice, bring anything home?
Simon, did you check out the gallery for my comment on your car? Something needs realignment!
-
Yeah the first incarnation of it I kept the full factory length runners, and now that we have gone to the new intake which is half that length I certainly dont notice any difference in top end breathing as you would expect with the turbo.
Will take her for some more road tunes hopefully next week, and post some more pictures then.
I have noticed alot of people do serious engine work etc but stick with the very long factory plenum, this must limit top end horespower.I am talking n/a, hope your tuning set up works ok.

Do you remember the BMW ad when the Bangle designed car was driving thru the forest/back roads at night?
All that was visible were the kidney grill & lights, rumour has it they couldn't show the whole car because old people got such a fright viewing such a radical(ug y) car!

Maybe just a spare plug when they build,(diff spec) maybe for additional O2 sensor? If the car runs ok, don't worry. My car has the odd plug floating about.

The actual numbers I aint too sure but they get paid just as much as your Toyota mechanic...
McMillans charge $125 hr, i would have thought their top guys got more than Toyota & or $30hr.

Some people have no COMMON SENSE, when you think about it it's not that common.

Top looking Golf, tastefully done.

Dont mind me saying but I suppose thats how dealership servicing really get hold of their skilled workers with most of the mechanics going through as apprentice before becoming an offical mechanic. You do get a few Master Mechanics whom have had tranning in BMW Germany...
Any idea what BMW DEALERS pay their technicians? Just curious how they rate in the scheme of things.

Just did a vin decode on the 535is & box is 260/6. Just a wild goose chase working out what the '6' is.Getrag code thats all?

as i said before ^^ prove me wrong on a dyno
I agree, may alter sound but always dyno before & after mods to check. If you get a gain i would be surprised, N/A costs money to get power!

No respect for other peoples property, same as Graffiti. They don't respect themselves so how can respect others property.

The Japanese are very careful people, it probably flashes as you enter a RED light district or Yakuza controlled suburb.

Haha, what's that supposed to mean? Go easy?
M60 engine has more PWR/TORQUE than M30, we need a head start!
-
Very nice E34, you must be rapt! Easy on the right foot when up against fellow E34's with M30 pwr!!

Anyone looking for a project? This has to be cheap for you E30 fans!

Small amount is normal, just clean it out and clean out the throttle body too. If you feel capable
+1. Mine was pretty black, also my throttle body.Cleaned mine with petrol.(no ciggies)
-
Was only $7k at an estate sale. Pretty good price really.
Thats cheap for N.Z. new.
-
So same as my E34 then basically. Although this one has a service history, E34 did not. Ah well, brought it anyway. Even made money on the sale of my E34!!!!!!!
Hope all goes well, the E39 is a lot more complex compared to our old E34's.
I think from memory all the suspension arms are aluminium, must go like stink with a modern 3.5ltr V8.
Let us know what your thoughts are on the E39 after owning for 6mths.

With 200k's on the clock everything has been well used, i.e. wheel bearings, suspension shocks/bushes, fuel injectors/pump, exhaust etc etc so depending on work done this car would be a must for dealer check.Repairs can cost a fortune compared to the great value these cars are now.
ps. hope i'm not too negative on old cars but the advice i was given was to suspect its a pile of trouble till proved otherwise. Trust is good, SECURITY is better!

Looks like a top job, i personally stick to black with aluminium highlights.

Hi,
Looking at a 535i E39 and wanting to know what faults to look for.
Any help appreciated.
Mark
Mr E34 don't know much about E39. The main fault is the shape! Just kidding, the engine should be ok being Alusil, suppose the only thing i have heard is cooling system failures due to high pressure/temps etc.
Get a full BMW dealer inspection and speak personally to the tech that did the actual check and get his thoughts on the E39. Don't rely on any so called expert.
My 2 cents.

Hi Brent, what happened with the 540 wagon on TradeMe? E34 done 96000km, bid at 15k. Nobody regretted buying quality.
Picked up new car.

Hey Mark, did you sell the E34 to anyone in the Club? I wonder how many 535is are left around now.
