Havent used the 318is for a while and the battery has gone flat. Last weekend however, I thought I'd give it a run out, so jump started the car and suddenly petrol starts dripping out of the car near the petrol tank. Switched off car and the drips stopped... couldnt see where it was coming from but appears to be to top of the tank out of sight. Could it be the seal on the petrol pump? Any ideas? Where is the pump located?

Guys I normally can see all the posts to a particular message and just scroll through them, but since using a Mac the other day any new posts to a topic now have to be clicked separately. They now show up as a directory tree and its a pain...how do I convert back to seeing all the posts to a topic? Been playing in my controls, but nothing seems to work...advice please. Cheers Paul

Just found an old thread, it looks as if the sides go for about $90, so how about I throw in the fronts and postage and call it $100?
-
How much are the sides going for?

I'm selling some new smoked side and front indicators (with orange lenses) for an E30. Looking for around $150 for the set, but open to offers.

As I'm not mechanical minded I havent got a clue if a pressure test is sufficient?
-
I'll start phoning about today... any idea how much I should ask for if I sold it as is?
-
Thanks for the info guys. I'm not mechanically minded..or should I say I've never really tried Luckily the daughter canfall back on one of the other BMW's while I ponder what to do with her car. Trying to consider spending money on a car only worth 2k, or sell it for parts and get something back Currently both garages I've asked for prices have quoted 2k, sounds as if I need to shop around tomorrow.

Guys My daughters car pulled up the other day and was overheating, its been in the garage and after pressure testing they have advised that the head gasket has gone. Its a 1989 318i Auto E30 4 door. I'm wondering how much would this cost to fix, do I replace the gasket or the engine or what would I get for just getting rid of the car altogether in its current state? Advice Please Paul

Spend a day or two in London and walk yourself silly seeing all the sights then get out of the place! Go see Windsor, Stonehenge, Bath, Stratford, Oxford etc and get in a few castles..Warwick is good. Avoid the warm southern Beer!! head North for a real pint. Yorks very nice. Get a car and drive into Wales, see the signs change into Welsh!! In Singapore go shopping on Orchard Road, have a curry in Little India.. eat with the locals. Good food and cheap. Go see a temple in Little India and China Town. Raffles is good, but try across the road at Chijmes an old convent for an evening meal. From Raffles walk along New bridge road and head to Boat Quay, loads of Bars plus get a River Taxi for $1 to Clarke Quay for more bars/restaurants. Check out seafood on the East Coast, go have a look at the Fullerton Hotel - the old post office and hop to Sentosa to take a look round Fort Canning... the rest you can skip, although the imported beach is nice. If your into cameras/Electronics etc go to Sim Lim on Rochor Canal Road and haggle over prices. Or try Paris Silk a small shop in Holland Village... its where all us Westerners hand around...full of expats now Otherwise go to Pasir Ris take a bum boat to Pulau Ubin...how Singapore use to be and bike round the island. If you need someone to show you round shout and I'll get some of my mates to take you out. In KL...pics of the Twin Towers and keep your money safe! China town market is good ona night for copies of YSL bags etc etc. Otherwise just enjoy it!

If I know the previous owner has done an oil change I put their name in the service book like a garage. Or I ask the previous owner where he got his car serviced...then I go along and ask for the garage to print out all the old service receipts and/or stamp the book. However, I normally start a folder and keep ALL paperwork, receipts, WOF, Service receipts, parts and even the old car tax..... makes it really easy to sell the car later on. I also usually go buy an official service book from BMW and ensure this is kept upto date.
