Guys I know that this model is a bit of a strange one e.g. left over E30 parts and few E36 bits...but with all your knowledge what can be done in the performance, handling and styling areas? Plus anyone know what size wheels I can get away with 17x8 max? cheers Paul

What do these older 5 series drive like? They're a lot cheaper than an E30.

Hey, I'm wondering wether to buy a BMW just for track days/ grass gymkana's etc and wondered if you all had a view to what type of car would be best suited? Do I go for a car needing attention.. an old E30 as it wouldnt matter if it was damaged or get a decent car e.g. E30/E36? Underlying reason is that I need a car for my son... 1 year until he is 15... so it'll be a good excuse to get another

Here's some pics... I only got it last month for $9500, Black Mica (Purple/Black Metallic), full history, standard engine, Lowered, Cusco Strut Brace, Blitz Turbo timer, Kenwood Stereo, Razo gearknob. Owned by a 36-38 year old previously so I don't thing its been thrashed. Only thing it needs is some paint on the rear hatch (where I ripped off the tacky WRX sticker duh!!) and the rear bumper. Its not a BMW though... its fast but not in the same class.

BMW advised that they cannot order in, its against the customs regulations?? A local Fire extinguisher reseller has advised that they can recharge as long as its the usual poweder/foam and not one of the older gases.

Hmm Forester, a bit different I suppose. I've an E46 330ci and an E30 318is, plus a WRX Wagon...would get rid of the WRX for a BMW anyday, its just too light and rattles. Jammasterjames would love it its Blackmica, lowered with graphite RAYS alloys and it did have all black tint, but just changes to 35 tint allround. A bit too gangsta for a 40 year old

Guys I managed to get a e30 BMW Fire Extinguisher plus brackets sent from my folks in the UK... although they emptied it before shipping. Any idea where I can get it recharged? Cheers Paul

In the crash it appears the other clips holding the whole of the grille have sprung off. So I need 2 clips for the kidney and 3 for the rest of the grille around the lights etc. Never know that their were different type of kidney's... i think mine is therefore a standard vented one.

Do you still have some chrome kidney grille's and around 5-6 of the small metal clips to hold the grille in place?

Hey, drop a PM to RXSumo, last time he had loads of parts from E28's..plus a donor car.

This would be an excellent project car and nicely spec'ed. Checked with Synter, the vin is on their records. Forgetting its an Alpina, the price is attractive for a 325i.

The car is in at Page European, they've found that my diff is goosed and that the rattling noise is coming from there!! The 318is is fitted with a 345, so they're going to see if they can find a suitable replacement second hand.

How much is the Turbo kit etc
