I had my drivers window smashed on my coupe and smith & smith hornby replaced it and f**ked my window rubbers so currently going without it on the inside, they also didnt see the huge stonechip on the windscreen which woulda been cool if they done at the same time (was an insurance jobby anyway)

Thanks for your help guys all sorted now with an external and pickup (which is the small one in Emilys pic that i was trying to use as a pump lol!)

My exact problem right there then.. i thought i could jimmy it up *doh* (yeh i made an adapter for the power plugs) Ive asked my brother to send me an inline pump from the wrecked 325 preFl and pickup from the tank, should i be wiring the inline to the connecters from my original pump?

5 pin relay (its a pre fl m20b25 also) the pumps are quite similar both from 318 fl. my dead one had aluminium casing and about 15% taller than the one i replaced it with, (all orange plastic and has square solid plastic filter on the bottom whereas the old one had a black material around a grid thingy... also the new pump has the location of fuel line and return swapped around. havnt tried to run the car with the other power but will try later as i have to goto work now

1989 318 (i recently converted it to a 325manual) http://www.carjam.co.nz/car/?plate=wbaaf62010ac62266 Chassis# WBAAF62010AC62266 the pump i put in is another 318 pump, it was slightly different to the one i already had in there (came out of another 318 FL from a wreckers)

When henry was here yesterday we moved around all the blue relays in the fuse box before pulling and testing the dead pump, im guessing they wont have anything to do with it though as terminal 30 & 87 are in the other relay(black) (is that the fuel pump relay?)

Just tried that and still no go, ive just got the line sitting up above the engine with a bottle at the moment lol my battery is pretty much dead now too *doh* Am i going to run into problems putting it on acc power for the meantime, should be fine aslong as i dont leave it sitting on with the pump going and engine not running right?

So on sunday my fuel pump shat itself, thankfully not far from home when i stopped for a pie! I have put in a new one(another intank) I got from the wreckers but it wont pump enough to push up to the engine(will pump it out at the bottom of the car.. I have connected +12v to it from the cig lighter and it'll pump fine.. I dont have a multi meter to test the original wires for it. Suggestions/Solutions? (wire it to acc on?)

You can buy different sizes from Mag&Turbo I think they're only $3 each from there dunno if they'll have 15mm longer ones though, they definately had some longer than std e30 ones though

oops should have said I was just after a pair at the moment (needa push the back wheels out!) hoping someone will sell some cheaper (paid 30 for my last full set and its about $25/pair for brand new ones)

Hey after i converted from m40 to m20 ive got a few problems some i want to fix straight a way its really frustrating at the moment when my doors arent open my electic windows arent getting power (i cant keep opening my door at 50kmh to adjust my windows! so im guessing they have 2 complete power circuits, one for open and one for close? also my heater fan isnt getting power either nor my electic wing mirror adjusters, I know that not all of my c101 plug pins line up at the moment but i wouldnt think one of those pins would carry current for the accessories? alright so i have 2 plugs that were connected and have stayed in the car and come from under the dash and one that comes from engine/ecu loom From under dash black plug: black/ purple black/red white plug: green/black purple brown these 2 plugged into my old ecu/engine loom and this one is hanging from under my dash: black/blue green white now the engine cranks but no start

Thanks heaps for your help Glenn! ive made up a rod i think it was about 87mm long, are you able to measure and let me know the length of a real one when you're at work tomorrow so i can double check please?
