maybe we shouldnt!! we will just start talking in essay form! its good to see a martial artist that does think about what training in our culture has to offer, and even more interesting to see another martial artist that can break down and look at the meaning of it. the misconceptions and misleading information that is being spread around is mostly disheartening, i feel martial arts should be progressive, not stagnant. you gave the example of traditional one hit, one kill.. with armour. how relevant is this in todays society? As much as i would like, and im sure most other males would is there own set of badass armour! but alas this is not the case, this theory needs to be adapted to our laws and culture, that theory can be adapted to now represent one hit, one incapasitation.. ie one inch punch. in our martial art we use the 1-warning, 2-heavy strike, 3-death. obviously this last movement and more often than not the second are to be left till the most extreme of cases, but here adaptation can be made. the traditions are of great significance dont get me wrong, the teachings regarding training are valuable even more so today, but the movements and the incorrect teaching is deaply concerning.. even more so are the students that seem to never question what is being taught or even ask why they are doing it in the first place! cheers shadow!

do you have any training photos? does your club compete on any level? how long have you been training in martial arts as a whole? what is your view on martial arts today? are thet still relevant to you? or do you find martial arts has become more of a watered down version of itself too drenched in a history not of our own, yet the so called beliefs and possible original movements (not likely) are still applied in todays world. Do you have a "proper" instuctor versed in the art or a student of a students friend who "kinda" knows Bujinkan Kobudo... like some arts seem to have now! :drugs: .. martial arts to me has a place, but unfortunatly alot of it is steeped in tradition and not focused on development of the art, this is unfortunate as all the movements were made up and researched many many years ago and do need to be analysed, I feel all the movements have changed over time as the original masters and there sole student passed away. whole forms have been lost and a chinese wisper effect has almost taken care of the rest. to me Traditional forms are little more than useless as no one focusses enough on the techniques developement, for example Chi Sao or literaly 黐手 for those fluent, can only be truly and effectively taught by someone who is a master in the movement...ie thats there vice, yet my club does this movement from black belt up.. i see where my instuctors motives are and i like the use of the technique but my club only uses it as a sensitisation excercise that works great. other schools will teach it as part of the art yet the instuctor is not truly teaching them the correct form. Then they inturn go off and start a club whos students go and start another....on and on. martial arts is little more than exercise in many clubs as the instructors are what i would class as non-martial artists or 'play fighters' which is a sad thing, because there are many talented people being taught by sub standard, ill informed, mal trained, so called instructors. me and my instructor used to go to clubs and seminars and talk with the instructor and listen to them bullshit there way through a converstation / seminar, then ask for a demonstration of a technique only to be shown some lacking movement that was laughable at best and when prompted to explain what they were doing mechanicly they have no idea... hmm obviously broken it down and studied that then... damn i can write, incoherently at best!.. i cant be bothered rearranging and fixing it.. so if you get it sweet, if you dont, read it again. to close on this moan, i would just like to say that although not everyone can be a martial artist, out of those that are, most are not what i would call a martial artist.

for a proper set up generally speaking you should not have ANY rear fill. but as you all have back seats its most likely that you want to "hook" the rear tag alongs up with some sound. f**k that sh*t, no rear fill and a nice big sub in the boot, so all they get is "BOOM" while you enjoy the perfect sound reproduction up front.. see it can be doubled as a "get your own car" type statement without actually saying anything!
