My Bmw blew all its water out on the dyno today and made less power than before It broke a small pipe off under the inlet manifold. The makeshift fix Off to taupo track tomorrow to see how she goes.

Those look like CP's , rattle rattle
-
Changed out the Diff today for a 3.7 so much better on the open road drive shaft hoops
-
Cert all sorted now, Bailed from work, drove to Hamilton to install some Drive Shaft hoops and fix the tail lights
-
I was more worried about all the mods to the chassie and forgot about checking the lights. I hope to get across tomorrow and with some luck get it all sorted.
-
The failed cert 1- one turn lamp not going 2- one tail lamp not going 3- No front park lights- Its is not required on cars 1972 or older 4- Front drive shaft hoop all easy to fix, so really not that bad

love that gear lever.

Bit of an update- Went on a cruise to Taupo on the weekend with some other Bmw owners. The car whent really well, still need to change the diff. Dropped the car off in Hamilton today for cert. The guy reckens he needs it for a week. I hope it all goes well. Its also got tinted windows now.

Those ITB's are going to sound wicked

check out this 2002 build- http://www.terrysaytherauto.com/Frankenbimmer.htm I wouldn't have thought of that!!!

I can hear the seat rear seat belt buckels hitting each other. It took till the last run of the day for me to work out the noise. The rear belts are old school non-retrackables.

11 th out of 27 cars(six of first 7 were 4wds) , 4th in the 1600-2000 class. I think it was the first road car- no roll cage.

The hillclimb in the weekend was alot fun. It rained in the morning but the road was wet all day. I have posted vid on youtube of one run where it wasn't raining. Not the best driving display. And having an open diff is not cool

 and more

Car has carpet now, also mounted a fire extinguisher for the hill climb this weekend
-
I was just hoping I didn't go backwards from the m10 Reading about the M44 lots of comments are made about the inlet manifold and how restrictive it is, and really its probably only about 15-17% gain
-
A bit of an age gap between the engines, Plus I can't rule out different dyno's or tho we are using the same dyno that gave as 78kw on the old m10 with the same carbs
-
Success at last rev limited at 7000 now. Car whet back on the dyno today. Got to 108kw at the wheels@ 6500. Its not big power but Bmw quotes 100kw at the flywheel @ 6000 and all I did was bolt on some side drafts. I forgot to take the video camera, so no vid I'm going to a hillclimb next weekend, I won't forget the camera for that.

I'm in Rotorua I could have a look for you PM sent

I have now got the engine running pretty good, but still have a problem with the vr conditioner, The input of conditioner into the mega squirt goes to sh*t just after 6000 rpm.
-
I still don't see an answer to the question But I have come up with trig A pos -11 trig A return -19 trig B pos -41 trig B return -49 Its running but won't rev pass about 2800. I installed a 330 ohm resistor inline with the VR and that got it up about 3500
-
Its just running wasted spark. The Mega Squirt is out and running, but still go problems with the vr conditioner. engine won't rev pass about 2800
-
why post if you were not going to answer the question
