  1. Any good to you cam? http://www.turners.co.nz/TabId/188/vguid/A...6A/default.aspx
  2. No worries, you'll need to get your engine builder to make sure the liner's thick enough to do the rebore? Otherwise just look out for a 530 or 730 block?
  3. Interested, but link don't work? How much?
  4. Maybe the last of the bargains? http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/C...n-170199944.htm
  5. If you want to go to 3 lt you'll need to rebore. The M30 came out in 3 basic bore sizes, 86mm for 2.5 and 2.8, 89mm for 3.0 and 3.3, and 92 mm for 3.5. There are a couple of variations to this, but the common ones fall into these catagories. Therefore if you want a 3 litre, then you'll need that rebore. As far as I can find out, all the heads are interchangeable, same cast numbers right thru. I have a 2.5 head here and it's the same as my 3.5 one, just a different cam. Hope this clears that up.
  6. Only if you poked both my eyes out Alex.
  7. Hi Shaun, you asked for any advice, and that's all you're getting, no one's said, don't do it, we're just suggesting more economical alternatives, the E34 block is much easier to get and to get parts for. My 2c.
  8. If you're going to be spending on a turbo build, the last thing you need is a little 2.8 block to start with, free or not. Why not go to an E34 3.5, low compression to start with, and go from there? there are 3.5 blocks on Tm for around $500 most of the time, surely a better base? Would be talking to Marty if you're at all serious?
  9. AFAIK, any 5, 6, or 7 series from the 80's, and E32 and E34 from the 90's all fit.
  10. Yes, same motor, M40, all parts fit.
  11. You forum sponsors obviously have too much time on your hands at the moment????????
  12. Well, the wiring saga started last week, got the wiring details for the E34 and E28, courtesy of our good friend Jochen, thanks. The problem was that the E34 loom has a round plug to the fuse box and the E28 has an oblong one. The E34 also has twice as many wires, but you don't need them all, thank goodness. Spent many hours pouring over the pics and finally started splicing them together, with some help from Hotwire, thanks Grant. Finally plugged the E34 loom into the E28, and turned the key, and nothing. Got the battery light, but nothing else. Then had to start tracing wires and checking power, and guess what.... previous owner had cut the power feed to the ignition and the power to the starter. Turned the key tonight and the motor turns over, lots of smiles , don't want to start it, no exhaust or radiator plumbed in yet. Next will be down to the local exhaust wiz for a full free flow system . Have kept a copy of the wiring if anyone decides to put an E34 into an E28.
  13. Hi, interested in the coupe E30, what area are you please?
  14. Already got a few of them running, 635's. Might be fun Conrad.
  15. Hope so, could be 2 or 3 E28's running some time this season I hear?
  16. The shell's an 87 525ee, cage has been delayed for a couple of weeks. Will post pics when in. Cheers.
  17. Main thing is to go faster than the Series E30's........
  18. Happy Birthday Sparkle, have one on me.
  19. You wouldn't think that if you saw all 12 cars on my back lawn at the moment?
  20. Don't need to say it, you have?
  21. Sorry Kym, but my Bentley says that for the M30 engine, you tighten to 60nm, wait 20 mins then tighten to 80nm, then run till hot, 25 mins about and tighten another 35 degrees. I'd suggest you take it all apart and check it before you go any further. Something is wrong, it definately shouldn't leak like that. You sure you weren't reading the specs for the 528e?
  22. Nah, car's on the market if you hear of anyone after one. I'll pit for Stevo, and run the open class. I guess it comes down to wanting to be able to do a bit more and go a bit faster, I hope.
