  1. Welcome, was that Kimmies car? What's wrong with it? A few of us on here have bits etc, and are happy to help with advice. Hope to see it around.
  2. Ahhh, what a way to spend a Sunday morning, pottering around in the shed by yourself, doing this. The engine is in, and all the brackets etc work well. I've had to make a new engine mount for the drivers side, and will have to change the brake booster, missed fitting by 10mm, thought about the big hammer, but it is Sunday, so took it out instead, I think my E34 one is smaller, so should fit straight in. Now also has the centre console for all the gauges and switches, and the required number of pedals, 3pedals will now be happy. Modified an E30 gearbox cross member, fits like a glove. Next is driveshaft and diff, hopefully off for a cage this week, then the wiring episode will begin.
  3. Hb Huttey, have a good one, you've caught up again...
  4. check this Paul. Courtesy of realoem.com
  5. If you turn the ignition to the accessory position, you should be able to see a tiny hole at the end of the ignition cylinder, about 7o'clock under where the key goes in. Push a piece of stiff wire into the hole. That should release the cylinder and it should slide right out.
  6. It's the barrel that's the problem, not the key. You could try removing the barrel and seeing if somethings jammed or not?
  7. I'm with Bravo, check that diff hanger again. Have had a similar experience.
  8. Believe it or not, spermicide certainly won't give you herpes.... sperm might tho
  9. Check this article out, particularly the bit Brent posted from the mag. http://www.bimmersport.co.nz/forums/index....p;hl=M30+engine
  10. Yeah, you want the block with the 93mm pistons, I have one, from an early 635, 79 I think. Pistons are marked on top, block was called M90 from memory, Topcat has all the clues on these.
  11. AFAIK it's mainly for the TV coverage, this isn't cheap, and it's what we need to get other sponsors aboard. I'm sure they were a sponsor last year? See they aren't on the list at the moment, sure that will change tho.
  12. Congrats to the committee on a job well done. Might have taken a bit longer than expected, but with all the work involved it is a great outcome. Hope everyone appreciates the endevour put in by the committee to get a major oil company in behind the series when everyone else's trying to get out of spending at the moment. At least in 3 years time we know they'll still be here. Thanks.
  13. Good on you for posting, and I hope you find the a'hole. Wouldn't want to be him when you do tho.
  14. Just luv'n the look wide 'n low.
  15. you will need to bleed the system and top up when you do this, you do lose some water. make sure its cold if you do it. If in doubt, take it to a garage, Botany motor worx in Te Irirangi is good if you're south.
  16. Ok, it's the M40 motor then. So the hose to feel is the one on the drivers side which goes to the bottom of the radiator, not the top hose, it should be hot. You'll see that the bottom hose joins to the motor at the front, behind the fan, the thermostat is behind that aluminium fitting that hose slips on. You undo 3 x 10mm bolts to remove it, and the thermostat should just pry out quite easily. You can drop it in a pot of boiling water and see if it opens. This motor can run without a thermostat if you want to see if it makes any difference, because of where the thermostat is, by removing it you just have it open all the time, so you shouldn't overheat due to a problem there.
  17. It's the big fan behind the radiator, when the motor's off you should feel some resistance when you try to spin it. The car will need to be at full operating temp to do the top hose check, what car do you have?
  18. Long time no see Sparkle, good to see you around. The fronts are modified stock, platforms cut off and threaded tube welded on. The backs are nzv8 style but with Koni's and threaded tube. Beauty of it is that by running the nzv8 setup there are so many spring rate options at good prices. I've got 4.1, 3.73, 3.46 all LSD's to play with.
  19. Give Ray a call at Hellbm, a forum sponsor, He'll do you a good deal.
  20. Possibly the viscous fan, indications are right. Do you have any water leaks, do you have to top it up at all?
  21. Thanks Grant, will swap in the morning and see how it goes.
  22. If its like mine Grant, the high and low beams don't work, the park and high flash do.
  23. got the same problem in the E28 at the moment so let me know what you find Milan.
  24. Please Andy, empty your inbox.
