  1. Much warmer in the garage today, managed to get the old clamp off and put a new one on.. fuel leaked sorted.

Looks like it might still be leaking coolant, possibly from the thermostat housing (the one thing I over looked) I see there's a bunch of aluminum housing on the market. Anyone used one with success or just stick with a factory one.

  2. Couple years have gone by, didn't realize it was 3! Not a huge amount has changed but kids will do that. Been through a couple different sets of wheels, style 5s, acs type 1 monoblocks.

Picked up a dream set of ACS type 1 racing which I'll get widened to 17x9. Currently rocking some stye 24s however

Ditched the msport kit and going more with an ASC theme. Picked up some type 1 mirrors, and painted them LSB as a tester as thinking about painting the whole car..

Had a slow coolant leak which was getting worse. Top hose looked average so replaced that..nope still leaking..so I guess nows a good time to upgrade the radiator. Was holding out for a s54 z3m one but all out of stock. Ended up grabbing a cheap used mishimoto one with new hoses. I had the radiator with the expansion tank built in so thought now would be a good time to upgrade to the m3 self bleeding system. 20220417_213551.thumb.jpg.13d0562a92b8d6c62b4e75f68023351d.jpg

    Out with the old..

This was much harder than I thought. First, radiator didn't fit as the mounts are too narrow, grabbed some from a wrecker. Mine also has two wiring connectors up by the fuse box so tucked them underneath the expansion tank bracket for now. 20220417_213216.thumb.jpg.99c517b0202fa17d61bedeedc185b72a.jpg

then I had run this hose which connected to old expansion tank, to the new one. I cut it in half and grabbed a joiner from the legends at A1.

Spent a wee while staring at the arse end of the convertible - decided it needs a little something, namely a boot spoiler.

I can’t decide between the Tech 1 or the more subtle “SE” lip spoilers I have sitting in the cupboard.

I do also have an M3 Evo III style spoiler from the race car, but thought that would be a bit OTT for a road going ‘vert.

Tech 1.. I've got an alpina 157 on mine and the side profile is perfect with the top down

Best of luck finding a panel shop that wants anything but insurance work these days. It's been a long time since I had major work done, but Takapuna Panelbeaters have done a couple of full bare metal resprays for me and the work has always been fantastic - and they know how to properly fix things.

Panel shops prefer non insurance work as they get screwed down tight on what insurance companies will pay
