My radiator is starting to leak so I need to replace it. Currently has the radiator with the built in expansion tank but looking at something bigger and future proof, eg z3m one or the like.
What's needed to fit the different expansion tank setup? Tank, top hose, shroud? Or just get an fcp euro cooling system kit?
Or do I go all out and get the m3 self bleeding setup?
Cheers

Look at the E36 M3 as a perfect example. A car yard lists one high due to investment potential (appeal to a US market prices). Slowly but surely every one that follows tracks that asking price. All are still for sale but new ones continue to pop up at inflated prices. No aparent demand, but the bar has been artificially raised and that's now "the price".
If people were enthusiasts, surely they would have bought one when they were 5k? Anyone would have worked out that anything with a M badge on it will go up after the rise of the e30 m3.
It's all about supply and demand, they aren't making them anymore, most of them have been cut up, rusted out and beat up. And if someone is willing to pay then are they inflated? Estroil blue m3 sold for 48kish 12months ago so are they inflated?

Everyone raves about how good the e30 is blah blah and then complains when demand and prices increases. All prices on all cars are going up at the moment, some more than others but just because someone has more money and desire to own one, does that make them less on enthusiasts and someone with half the money? No

10k covers the mismatched seats and black one is smg.
One thing I learnt having just sold and buying a new house is that buyers are liers. There are what people think its worth but they aren't the ones buying. The ones buying know how much but keep tight lipped on it.

One of the new mtexture jap imports. I'm guessing he doesn't have the original drivers seat. "It has the CSL competition partial leather and cloth option" lol
Seen this a few times around town whilst on dealer plates. Nice car but 68k is a lot

I think e36 rear shocks have a m3 stamped on them. Ive got a full rear end in storage which I can check once we move to the new house

M60b44 is a m62 block with m60 heads

Bmw has the Guinness world record for the longest drift in one of these so they are certainly built for this type of abuse. Every promotional video for any M car has them drifting etc. AMG has drift mode, there's not a top gear episode where someone isn't drifting something, they are built for this type of thing.
I think it was on here that someone once wrote e30s are like girlfriends. You know your not the first but it's not nice seeing someone else giving her a thrashing

Only America offered them. But this is nothing like an m5. And with 535is available for 15k odd, certainly not worth it in a car like this

Pretty reasonable pricing I feel. Looking at £2000 for some Alpinas and at $600+ for an unfurbished steering wheel, $850 for one ready to go, it's probably worth it

I'm not sure I agree.. IMO price has nothing to do with it being an enthusiasts vehicle. Where they still a enthusiasts vehicle when they were $500 and being cut up and thrashed? Or were they cars for Bogans then? I look at porsche as the ultimate enthusiasts vehicle, not that I've ever driven one but will never be able to afford one but doesn't stop it being a vehicle for enthusiasts

Haha it's a hard one bro, I wouldn't let the e30 go for less than 30k which gets a e60 m5, c63. Throw the e36 wagon in and I'm looking at e46 m3s etc.. the tempt is real
1 hour ago, Contrails said:I had a 2014 F20 116i which I paid $30k for in 2017. In 2018 a black Mtech 1 came up for sale for $18.5k, so I put the F20 up for sale for $24k. Luckily I sold it within two weeks and I went straight away and picked up the Mtech 1 ($16k after bargaining and letting the previous owner keep a lot of extra parts that weren’t original to the car). $16k for this car was asking top dollar in 2018 but I always wanted a black Mtech 1 and didn’t mind paying for an overpriced car at that time. (The asking price of $18.5k at that time put a lot people off and I was the first to go see the car).
Moral of the story, the longer you wait, the more you will have to budget. If you see one that’s ticking all the boxes, just pull the trigger.
Nothing truer... I was waiting on a facelift vert, paid 10k for one 6ish years ago which was alot at the time but now looks like a bargain

I've been thinking this today as I've just been given a company car so having two cars sit at home all week isn't that practical. Logic says sell the e30 and e36, and buy a replacement, cashing in on current market rates but could I do it? Not sure...

@Sammo if you get this then getting rid of the renowned steering has to be first on the list. They are renown for failing

They refuse to give me quote to replace the SCR injector and NOX sensors, which are the key components of adblue and could solve the problem. I would really appreciate any solution or recommendation to a reliable workshop in Auckland!
What's the fault? Don't know anyone personally in Auckland but currys suggestion of Eurosurgeon is a good one, only heard good things.

Not sure what they charge up wellington way but Novus charge about $80 here to do a chip repair.
