Are you saying you would drive a daily that you didnt like ?I wouldnt drive anything I didnt enjoy....daily or not. Thats the main reason behind me picking up Ruby. I want to see if the wife will enjoy driving an e30 more than I enjoy driving her current car which is a 97 GT-b wagon. Anyone want to buy a 97 GT-b wagon ? Two litre twin turbo with full kit in Scooby yellow
-
Well it hasnt taken long to start pulling Ruby apart Ive got a problem with the drivers seat which I thought was just a twisted seat back. All the screws and cables were attached correctly so Ill pulled it apart and found what I think is the problem. Check out the two photos you can see the first one has quite a decent gap between the bottom of the mechanism and the rail. Whereas the right side is very low and the angle of the mechanism is qutie different. Reading on the internet tells me that this is very common when people have sex in their cars so I wont ask Andy what he was doing with Lisa on the drive down I can pretty easily pull the seat base from the rail to make it the same distance which lends me to think that something in there is either bent or snapped but Im on borrowed time at the moment so dont want to pull the rest of the mechanism to pieces right now. Does anyone know if this can be easily repaired or does it need completely pulling out and re-welding somewhere.?

From memory...Mosens had never wrecked one (and he even told me I would be luck to find anything), SD European had a couple of parts but only indicators and such like that they wanted an arm and a leg for and European Autospares had nothing either. Maybe I just got them on a bad day
-
HAHAHAHAHAA HOHOHOHOH HHAHAHAHAHAHAAH HOHOHOO You want e38 parts.......secoind hand.....in NZ !!!!! Sorry, had to get that out of my system You'll have a very hard time trying to find parts for an e38 second hand. Although I havent tried for a while now I rang almost every wrecker I could find in the country last year and most of them had NEVER wrecked an e38. I did find someone a few months ago with smashed 740 but he wouldnt wreck it just wanted to flog the whole car. I dont think he sold it either but he still wont break it. I seriously suggest you check out ebay. There are an abundance of parts and all at very reasonable prices. There is a guy in Lithuania that sells alot of tv parts who has sold parts to my friends in the UK and they have all said he was good (if a little more expensive than the others) If you do find someone wrecking one, PLEASE let me know.

Anyone have an E39 with a factory alarm in it?
martyyn replied to jochen's topic in General Discussion
I dont know if your aware Roj but on my e38 if I press the remote once to lock the car then press it a second time after its looked it sets the alarm but disarms the interior motion sensors.I assume the e39 is the same. -
Is that promo-chick or homo-prick Sorry fella, couldnt let the opportunity pass

The E39 won the European Car of the Year title (for its class) in ALL BUT ONE of its production years. That says enough for me.

The new minis have an 'is' badge....or the 's' at least on the supercharged Coopers
-
Congrats Will, I wouldve thrown you in jail myself, but there you go

Get yourself a Navman Ollie.....any tv/nav retrofit is extortionately expensive in NZ.Ive seen a couple of great fitments of a Navman (or similar products) into existing dash areas that look really good, plus you can take it out and put it into something else really easily.

Do you meant the strut brace ?It helps to keep the front of the car rigid by supporting the two strut 'towers' which helps in cornering etc. Im sure there are plenty who can give you a better description
-
I hope to God you got her number
-
I can just see you Darryl nipping between the pair e3's in the kitchen for a spot of breakfast, walking past the e34 to get to the tv, and moving another e3 to one side as you brush your teeth at night....around the house....honestly
-
Well why not...would be nice to take my pick of 3, 5 or 7 when I pick up the keys to go out
-
Its looks stunning but am I alone in thinking that it would look better on some 17' borbet alloys rather than the nasty 19's ? What sort of price would something like this go for....Im very tempted !

I think it was dubbed over....you could see his lips werent moving at the same time

If you have proof then I (and it looks like everyone else on here) will have no problem with what you have done, but you didnt mention any of this on your original post did you ?If you dont have proof then my original comment stands. I applaud ANYONE who shops someone for driving with an illegal car and as Spargo points out, if they let you back out on the road knowing its illegal then its their necks on the line aswell as yours, so good on them.
-
So is the car legal or not ? If not then I dont see what you have to complain about being shopped by Pitstop and the tyre place. If its not safe get it off the road....end of story.
-
Sweet....well if you want to get rid of the springs and shocks you know where I am.
-
Eh hold on.....if there are shocks and springs for sale then I should be having first dibs. We did after all have a deal until Gus decided oherwise...although how can I be sure this isnt just another tease ?
