So....before I get carried away on this, does anyone on here actually know anything about supercharging ? Im looking at the ESS website and there are serveral versions, but they make one specifically for the e38 4.4 and the X5 4.4. In fact they make several for the e38 740i alone. People in the States seem to have mixed opinions of it, but I know in Europe its been pretty reliable. 407 bhp and 572Nm !

Oh bloody hell. There I was looking at Alpina wheels all last week, then I find a mint 325 with full leather that I fancy as a daily, then a certain little 318is appears on trademe today and now this.... I need a lie down

Those wheels are sweet, so much better than the others ones you had on. Some aftermaket alloys can look good, but I will always prefer something that looks like it shouldve been on there from the start.

More info Ive picked up... Hello all, Can I just clear something up? Total BMW magazine has NOT ceased publication yet. We are continuing as normal and issue 75 is just about to go to the publishers. I have just seen the BMW Car Club column by Jeff Heywood and I am not at all pleased. So I would like to do my best to rectify it. Future Publishing does not intend to continue publishing this title but the intention is to sell as many mags as possible to prevent closure. Total BMW is one of those mags and the intention is that it will keep going with another publisher. There is still a chance we may cease publication, but at the moment it is business as usual. When I came on this forum a few weeks ago, I wanted to clear up the situation as I knew the news would get out. It would seem that everyone has assumed we have stopped publication. Only we here on the editorial team know exactly when it will close, or which is the last issue. Please don't listen to anyone else in the meantime, as they do not have their facts straight. I hope this clears things up, Cheers Matt Robinson, Total BMW editor

Ive only ever done amazon.co.uk but I can thoroughly recommend them. Shipping is usually two weeks tops and prices are always half decent.

Id take it as a no mate.

I honestly didnt think Id have anything to show after the first week, but the rest of the blokes in the office are girls.... Not quite as much hair gel as Tane but the 'tash is coming on nicely. Hmmmm the photo makes it look a lot blonder than it is !

Im not asking about the wheels, as you can see from my sig I have 18' polished m-pars and with the sports suspension its low enough already. Its also shadowlined and the bumpers are colour-coded so Im not sure where you get the xmas tree analogy from as mine has no chrome on it whatsoever. As for the lights, going with the facelift lights means I either fit facelift front guards (mucho dollaro) or get some panel beater to bodge it as the headlights and indicators are a different shape. Im interested to know why you think the facelift lights would look any better than keeping the original shape but going with angel eyes ? Is it because the facelift are round rather than square ?

As topic Bearing in mind that mine is shadowlined and I would be wanting to black my kidneys aswell....

So there I was taking the glovebox off to get at the carpet behind it and a wire with a bulb on the end of it dropped out from the top (under the dash) and hit a metal bracket and....bang. Now the neither the clock, the stereo or the rev counter works....is this likely to just be a fuse or something a little more serious ?

Now thats what I call a present HB matey

The reality for 4x4's is that if you hit a pedestrian you are 4 times more likely to kill them, if you t-bone another car you are 4 times more likely to kill the person you hit (assuming there is someone on the side you hit) and if you crash the car yourself you are twice as likely to die. Honestly, if there was a vote to ban them from city streets Id be at the front of the queue.

Simply stunning Darryl, well done mate.

All you people arguing about the difference between 109 and 111 are missing the point. The limit is 100, not 109. If you were on 85/90 points already then you deserve to lose your licence. Fines and points obviously arent enough to make you stay under the limit.

What I find really interesting is the amount of 4x4's that have a protection rating of only average for the occupants. Dispells the myth that your safer in the 4x4. Its only the monsters that have better than average ratings, but with that comes the fact your more likely to kill someone else.

Yep. I had a couple of auctions pulled a few weeks ago for Arsenal shirts, they said I was violating copyright. The interesting thing was that there are dozens of shirts on there that are the rudest fakes youve ever seen in your life and people are passing them off as genuine ! I could find no way at all of contacting them to complain and just put them back up on a three day auction and sold the lot of them

I hate to say it but with the 4.4 your more likely to see 20 than 14 around town in Wellington. It all depends on wherther or not you go up and down hills all day.My trip from Northland down to Willis Street and back averages at 14 mpg which is not far off the 20l your dreading. See if you can get hold of one for more than a couple of hours and just do your typical trip several times and see what you get. Your right about not needing anything more, the 4.4 is nothing short of rapid
