Im going to set myself right up now for a major meltdown, but Ive never had any virus/malware problems using AVG (or avast), spybot, adaware along with sygate firewall. What the Mac boys need to remember is no virus writer in their right mind is going to write a virus for hardware thats 10% of internet users.

Im not sure how helpful this will be Ron, but I had the 'non' runflat SP Sport 01's on the 740 and although they were quiet and comfortable, the grip compared to the previous Falken FK451's was poor and the rears only lasted a poxy 15k kms. Im pretty sure someone was recommending the RE050's on a thread the other week.

Id be keen if I could guarantee the quality and fitment. I really want a genuine one and have bought and sold them for around the price being asked here. So 200 notes for a fibreglass copy of unknown quality is a bit of a risk to be honest. I dont mean to bag SammyJ for doing a great job in getting them done, but Id rather hang on and get a real one for not a lot more if I can. If they were in Wellington and I could do a trial fitment to alleviate my fears the situation might be different, but can we assume from SammyJ's post that there are alot of people in this thread who have said they would be keen who have suddenly gone very quiet?

^^^^ back of the queue old man.... Here's my understanding of it all. There are two sizes of tech II wheel. The 385mm one from an e34 and e32 and the 370mm one from an e30. As far as Im aware neither fit an e28 without some modification to the e28 steering column, but of course I could be wrong. The 370mm one can only fit an e30....again I could be wrong but thats what Ive always thought to be the case. Now I want an 370mm one for an e30, because my tech I wheel is already 385mm and because Im such a lanky b4stard my hands hit my legs when driving so I want the smaller diameter wheel. Whats the e30 suede one you have Brent ?

I need one of the above to get some warmth into the car on the cold mornings ! Without having checked I 'think' I have the heater core that has an inlet and outlet pipe at each end of the core rather than the two together, but Ill confirm. Anyone have one ?

I dont think $200 is a steal, over the years Ive seen plenty go for less. Just a case of being in the right place at the right time. I keep finding myself checking e30's parked on the street in case I see one, so I can leave a note offering to buy it !

Two options. 1. Read the play and work it out for yourself ! 2. Google. Search for "shakespeare richard III buckingham" and the first half a dozen ALL tell you what went on. Sheesh.....what do they teach you in school these days ?

Id be keen for a set of bog standard silver. Not interested in messing with a classic design myself.

Mate its a nice car, in a fantastic colour, but 9k is seriously top dollar. I bought a NZ new 328 manual with leather, for 4k recently and although it had a huge mileage it was well looked after and in mint condition.

I have always been under the impression that an e34/e32 tech II wheel DOES NOT fit on e30. They have a different 'depth' to them apparently. The best way to check what fits what is to use the 'Application Search' on realoem. You can then see that an passenger airbag sensor from an e36 318Ti also fits an e38 740i

Awesome.....'nuff said.

Nice, saw an article in an old TBMW the other day with a beautiful metallic blue/green colour. They had some great colours back then. None of this black, silver or grey rubbish everything seems to be now.

Awesome project, best of uck to you. Ive always loved the E3's. You wont be painting it orange will you

I used king springs in the 325 and had no problems with them what so ever. Not a huge drop but looked brilliant with the 16' Alpinas.

Thats an impressive piece of kit, but 38 large ! Youve got to be kidding me.

Chaps, Its probably going to be a while before I get to put the 18' Alpinas onto another e39/e38 so Im wondering what the best way of storing the tyres is going to be. They are still on the alloys, are brand new Falken FK452's and worth a fortune. So how long will I be able to store them sitting on their side for? Is that the best way of storing them or would I be better off just selling them ? It could be as much as a year before I get to use them again, worst case a little longer but I dont want to use them and find they are knackered because they havent been stored correctly.
