  1. Something else you might want to think about is getting rid of the weights youve got on the alloys. Youve got beautiful wheels like that and nasty weights nailed on spoiling it all. Get them off and get the wheel place to put the sticky ones on the inside instead

    Baaaaaa!

We had a woman in a Terrano back into us a few months ago. She claimed she didnt see a bright YELLOW Subaru wagon parked behind her.....I had to point out that it probably had to do with the fact she had no wing mirrors ! Definately an opportunity to upgrade to clear lights
  3. Looks superb Beau, well done. For the side skirts, did you have the holes already drilled in the side of the car or did you have to do that yourself ? If not, what have you used to fix them apart from the clips underneath ? I think I know now why Ive had to order the clips from Germany, weve probably exhausted their entire NZ supplies recently !
  4. Id like to know who voted 'no' and why ? NZ has some of the most expensive and slowest broadband in the world and yet some people are happy ?

    FS: 1986 M325i

I dont think he's just 'trying to get rid of it now', but like bullitt has already said, the others have shown no sign of having sold so what is the true value of something like this now ? If I thought I could get even a reasonable sum for my 325 I would seriously consider 'trading up' to this, but in the current market I doubt Id get what I would value mine at. Hmmmm diamond black, tech1 m325 with my Alpinas
  6. and its been sold in the UK for about 18 months now. Interestingly TotalBMW have an article on it in this months magazine but I dont know if it will be out in NZ yet
  7. haha Honda have just been on the news saying they would need to know the exact make and model of any car before they confirmed whether it would be ok or not !

    Website Build

Ollie, just out of interest what would something like this cost ? Both static and content managed ?
  9. You should be locked up girl. Sell the compact, they are dime a dozen and you can always get another if it doesnt work out.
  10. Talking of stealth installs, the rear drinks holder when removed leaves a rather nice 'din' sized hole that can take a dvd player
  11. Aswell as the e32's and the e38's. This is one of the most common issues you can find. As people have already mentioned, unbalanced whees/tyres, control arm bushes, even alloys in need of spigot rings are all causes.
  12. Well it looks like Ill be buying Andy and Drifty the beers Claims of up to 35 bhp are all over the web with ECU remaps so perhaps this bloke in Auckland is the place to go to after all.
  13. Ok, Ill quantify where Im going from then. A 'starter' Dinan kit costs thousands for engine software, transmission software, cold air intake, free flow exhaust and a gain of 20bhp. Obviously its up to you whether you consider 20bhp to be a big enough gain on something thats already putting out 286 and whether you have that sort of money floating around. Take it to this bloke in Auckland and if he gets 20bhp plus from remapping a stock e38 ecu then I will happily buy the beers
  14. Strangled my arse !Doing all that will give you only minimal bhp gains and cost a small fortune. Chipping it will really only remove the limiter, perhaps sharpen the throttle response but again any bhp increase will be minimal. You just cant take these cars into your local garage and ask for a 'tune'. The only real option you have is to supercharge the thing and your talking thousands to do that properly. Frosty, what makes you think its 'nowhere near the power that it should' have you dyno'd it ?

    SRS LIGHT ON

I agree with Glenn. Where e38's are concerned you really need to find the BMW specific codes and a general code reader wont help you much.
  16. Ive just replaced the water tap on my facelift SA car and the best way I found to tell if its knackered is to take it out and blow down it ! If you dont feel anything at the other end then its dead. What I also found out was that they are 'open' by default so perhaps you have no power going to it, check the wire is still attached at the top. If it is dead then Ive got one that fits the heater cores that have the plastic pipes coming out of it, send me a pm if you need it.

  18. Ahhhhh my first love....a white markII escort 1600 sport, played with to get 1850, twin dellortos, gearbox from a 6 speed capri, wide wheels and tyres. Those were the days
  19. My understanding was that it started in Germany because there was a restriction on the size of the tyre you could run on a car, but not the size of the alloy.
  20. +1, they are across the road from me too which is handy Ive got a usb enclosure and a 100gb notebook drive, works brillantly straight from usb and small enough to carry around everywhere. Weve also just bought an iomega external drive from Ascent, was $289 for 500gb, plug into USB, plug into power and your done.

    DVD Ripping

I dont doubt that at all Andrew, which is why I wouldnt want to compress it anymore to save disk space when hard drives are so cheap these days.Understandably tough thats necessary for Carl to use his MVP.....told you mate HTPC FTW

    DVD Ripping

My understanding is that its already extremely illegal. At the moment in NZ you dont even have the right to rip a cd that you own and transfer it onto your ipod.
