  1. Thanks Ray, I have a feeling that there might be two different 'types', one has plastic inlet pipes the other has aluminium inlet pipes. I dont remember which mine has, which one do you have ? Alternatively do you have the part number so when I pull mine out again I can compare them. Cheers Martyn
  2. No need to be painted to go onto mine
  3. Chaps, Although the forums are always full of hot air I currently have none in my 90 SA built 325i (with aircon if that makes a difference) Hot water is flowing into the heater matrix but none is coming out regardless of what position I have the temp gauge set to on the dash. We had the matrix out over the weekend and it was just packed full of sh!tty dark orange water indicating again that nothing was going through it. it soon cleared up but still no warm air in the cabin when it was all put back in again. So does anyone have one ? I dont know its proper name but it looks a little like a snorkel ! Shouldve taken the part number whilst it was all out Ive learnt the hard way that the SA cars dont always take the 'normal' parts so I dont know if this will be a problem. Cheers Martyn
  4. Wit ?!?!?! Thats a little generous isnt it Ken
  5. I dont know about the 'only way' Nath, doing your research up front can often save you from a wasted journey.
  6. Its like buying any car. If you dont do your research expect to get your fingers burnt.
  7. My wife has NZ and Dutch and our kids have NZ and UK passports Oh and I have both an NZ and UK drivers licence too.
  8. And if anyone has any four door SE side skirts they want to sell, let me know :-)
  9. Honestly Matty its not worth the hassle buggering about with 12 months here and a couple of weeks there. The theory test is so bloody easy its not funny, so once your sorted over here take the test and be done with it.
  10. Any news on this Andrew ? Ive just checked out the Dension website and they finally confirm the icelink for the e38 (Ive had conflicting stories from the UK) and am keen to get one. I take it the icelink just hooks up your ipod and the gateways allow you to hook up with usb pens and video out for screens etc.
  11. You can get example copies of them from somewhere....try the ltsa website
  12. I hope that bloke from Jeff Grey's is watching
  13. Great idea Jock, but can you see the guy at the filling station telling someone they cant have petrol at 2am on a cold and wet Sunday morning because they have no insurance ! I have no doubt whatsoever that the cameras that are reading your licence plates will be used to track insurance. They will scan your licence plate several times a day in some places and alarm bells will ring as soon as they scan one that has no wof, or no reg or no insurance. Big brother will be watching, but if its used to catch those breaking the law, who cares right ?
  14. ^^^^ everyone's a critic ! The reality is that 1.4 million is but a small drop in the ocean of the billions of dollars there is in the government coffers. If they really wanted to deal with the issue they would, but by imposing compulsory insurance (which I think is a great idea in general, not wont necessarily tackle this issue) the only winners are going to be the insurance companies. It will be interesting to see how easy it will be for little Johnny to insure his WRX when this comes in, or if he'll be able to get away with it by insuring it in someone elses name and him just being a driver.
  15. Mate, UP your offer for mine and you can have them in for the weekend It doesnt look like you are going to find any others any time soon
  16. The best suggestion I can give is to get along to a meet (although you dont say where you are) and see if you can blag a ride in a few cars with different shocks/springs. Most people on here have differing view on spings especially and ultimately you will need to have a ride in a car to know what you do and dont like.
  17. If the fools can afford to spend the cash on the cars in the first place, they can afford to pay their fines. The arguement that they cant afford to pay is pathetic. What more realistic is that no-one makes them pay the fines so they dont.Stop making it easy for them. Take the car away and sell it to cover the fines. Then let the banks have their piece when they default on the loan. I blame the banks to a certain degree too, its so easy these days to get credit its not funny. They dont care because they have a hold over something in return for the loan but it seems that any fool can walk into a bank and walk out with 10k no matter how little they earn.
  18. bimmersport sticker bumps from 2Ghz to 2.13Ghz
  19. Can vouch for these, have one myself and 1k is cheap if you ask me.
  20. Oh really.....so if you were to have your car taken and crushed, given a 20k fine (so you couldnt just go out and replace it) and lost your licence for 12 months you would continue to be an ar$e on the roads ? I dont think so.There's heavy and there's fcuking heavy. NZ has become a country of people that blames everyone else for their problems rather than taking responsibility for their own actions.
