  1. I dont know where you would get them in NZ other than from the dealers, so be prepared to donate one of your arms at the very least. I asked three years ago what they cost to replace and they said (minus tyres) I have to pay around 10k ! Dont know how serious he was but it sounded ridiculous. There has been someone selling them on TM for ages but they dont look genuine and the price has come down from 2000 to 950....beside I think they were 8' all around
  2. Errrr no. Yes I have them but e38 will not go onto e39. The e38 (as are almost everything else) is 72.4mm but the e39 is 74mm You can go the other way around but not the way you want to !
  3. For what car ?I have a set on my 7, is that what your after ?
  4. But they do make bloody good tourings !Rog, I must have missed your comments about buying the primera ! Its obviously too late to go hunting for e39 tourings !!
  5. Forget the radar detector Ive got a better idea. Get more demerits and get suspended....its not as bad as it sounds so bear with me. You can use the money youve saved on the detector to pay the fine so your winning already. Then with any luck, a few months without a car will teach you that being able to drive is a privilege and not a right and that the simple solution would be to respect the speed limit. You come away all square financially and a much better driver for the experience....everyone wins
  6. Can someone please explain where the Primera comes into this ?
  7. Forget the muppets Rog they obvioulsy have way too much time on their hands this afternoon. So what are you driving now ? Are they looking for another 5 ? I still think you should find find that 7 from the last thread, that had everything Considering youve had so many cars from JG (and obviously know them quite well now) do you think they would let you have a car for the weekend before making the decision ? Ive never been a car salesman before but I wouldve thought it would be ok if I knew there was a guaranteed sale at the end and it was only a case of finding the right car.
  8. I thought it was a rhetorical question !

Ive got just the 4wd wagon your looking for http://www.bimmersport.co.nz/forums/index....showtopic=10585 Negotiable for BS members
  10. Nah silver's too flashy, it needs to either be white or that funny brown colour they seem to be pushing at the moment.
  11. I take it that for two hundy your just talking about the rings and not the entire headlight [edit] and your using ebay.co.nz ???? I didnt think anyone used that ! Ill take another look
  12. And your confession is that you didnt get any photos ?
  13. Hahaha you guys crack me up. Your left in the BMW showroom with your pick of cars and you still go for a 3. Yeah right !
  14. Tardme Link Im looking for a quick sale so if anyone is interested send me a PM, Im willing to negotiate for a BS member. Its been an excellent car for us but we need to lose one of the three cars we have and the e30 and e38 are staying
  15. I dont know about the e34 but in the e38 when the light is on the airbag is de-activated so it wontr go off if you drive into a tree. Its also an immediate WOF fail. Do a search on google because I think there are some relatively simple checks you can do before you have to resort to a dealer to diagnose. Its quite likely going to be the sensor in the passenger seat belt or the sensor in the seat itself.
  16. Yeah I guess to be honest when I was doing it the receiving PC was using a USB wireless thingy which wasnt brilliant, but what I found was that its very environment dependent. In my case its going the entire length of the house, through half a dozen or more walls, the kitchen and the water tank. This meant the laptop at the other end of the house would struggle to play video from the server.
  17. Now were talking....only thing I would want to know is how it handles the codecs. Does it do any work at the 'client' end (and is therefore restricted to what it supports) or does it play anything that the 'server' can play ?
  18. You say that now, but I when its actually going and picture is crap you might change your mind. If you have divx in the first place, going through the MVP and coming out via composite its going to look awful on a big screen. Having said that I dont know what your used to or what you consider as acceptable, so perhaps it will do what you want. But or what its worth I wouldnt bother. An excellent idea but without digital outputs its a waste of time. A pc running MediaPortal or MCE will kick this all over the park. Digital outs for sound and video and you can control everything with an MCE remote. If you have the space there isnt much difference between this connected to your receiver and tv and a pc connected to your tv and receiver. Plus you have all the other benefits of a PVR
  19. They look pretty reasonable but there is no digital outs that I can see, so your sound will be restricted to stereo and your video will not be pretty on a whacking great plasma. Wireless will be ok for music and low quality divx's but you wont be streaming any dvd's on it !
  20. Ive got a shuttle doing all this and hooked up via HDMI to my LCD. It has twin tv tuners to record two channels whilst I watch something else, I can watch all the music/movies/photos from my server in the cupboard, surf the internet, watch internet tv/radio, do pretty much whatever I like. Its probably not quite what your after but the software is called MediaPortal and its open source Streaming tv and movies etc is doable with the latest beta version and I have a friend who streams his tv to his projector in his own home theatre room ! Alternatively you can use an Xbox as a client to a server with MS Media Center running but I havent tried that myself.
  21. Jaysus, Im in the wrong business. Just heard from the recovery bloke and he believes he'll be 100% sucessful and if so it will cost between 1000-1500 dollars Do I like my photos that much ?
  22. Booted up my wifes laptop yesterday to get the following message No primary hard disk found Its making a fair bit of noise too Now its only used for email and internet stuff so I couldnt care less, but it also has all of our home video and pictures and I seriously dont want to lose those. I normally back up every couple of months but what Ive lost now I desperately want back. Ive got hold of a data recovery place off the web with a no data no fee arrangement, but do any of you have any experience with data recovery ? Any tips that I can try myself ?
  23. Thats been for sale for a LONG time. I think Ive even seen it at 500 before without a bite.
