How much does that ITB setup cost?

Google RHD Engineering to find m44 ITB kit, from memory shipped came to NZ$2700<>.

We had a Link Management System ($2000<>) wired in; bought a complete ITB Kit from RHD and had a local tuning shop instal and tune it in ($3300 incl ITB kit & labour<>).

I have another 'like project' except it's an older '02 with an S42/m42 installed with ITB's.

It tempted me for a bit until I started building a house. :(

I do think it would be better than a series car (especially with the Delorto's).
And unless you live in the upper North Island it would be a better fit to the available race series as you mentioned.

I'm not currently interested in the race series either.  Travel costs are too high.
Local racing is where it is at.  And Manfield is the best track anyway :)

    All the best.

Have updated details on the added ITBs and the hydraulic handbrake additions. With the ITB's has a very 'linear acceleration' and on the tight hill-climb bends should have valuable time gains. As a 'universal' motorsport car drifting as another string to its bow.

Im pretty sure thats an RS badge from a Honda too, which doesnt mean Rally Sport, it means Road Sailing ?

Na, are you sure Honda didn't nick them off the Ford Focus?

Also, to really make your day better, I have to advise you an RS badge really means Real Slow.

Sounds like I am bashing it a little.

It's probably better than a Series car.  But it isn't usable in the series.  The ITB's could sound great.

It started life as an 323i engine e30  road car then caged by original 'race car conversion' owner. It blew it's engine in it's second local meeting. This 'disalusioned'  owner sold it as a roller to a prospective race driver, who intended putting an m50 engine in but found the process and cost too daunting. I took it on,  as I had an m44 to put in and could use it as an interim race-car  while completing an 's42' '02 build.

Never considered it for use in 'the series.' IMO and by my reckoning is too expensive for my resources , I can do more local events and for about 1/2 the budget for a series car.

With Delorto's, road pads and tyres managed a low 1.27 Manfield PB, with an RS (Real Slow) driver.

With your talent Dan, and with your tweaking, I believe sub 1.24 Manfeild laps could/would/should be attainable?

Can take on board though what you say.

This is a 316Ti. according to the VIN.. I don't think that info is anywhere in the ad.

To clarify further then : the Rego papers have it in black and white: BMW; 2002; Compact; cc rating - 1796; engine no. A395G723.

The vehicle was registered in Rotorua 16/12/2002. No badges are on the hatch with 316Ti or 318Ti either.

My wife has an BMW 2002 e46 with a 316Ti badge but the motor is a 1998cc, her car was an import from Japan.

I believe the badging of 316ti (1796cc) and 318ti (1998cc) and use of compact were used for different regions in the world, this came new into NZ.

  6. I have an e30M44 race car ready to go.

Probably the price would be under what you are about to spend too on your conversion.

It was a between car for me, took a low km'd m44 engine (96k ) that had been transplanted from my '02.

Project car has taken longer than expected and tripled the original budget!

  7. I sold my last pair with a set of brackets, nordic washers and new HT Bolts. BUT l have my spare set for my race car, which I am in the process of readying for sale, could sell those.

So yes the centres were machined for the e30 hub. I bought these rotors, as I heard they were stopping the supply. I think they may be the last ones sold in NZ. I have a spare set of new HT bolts & nordic washers too, which would be an extra $40. Bought from Steelmasters $10 ea, forgotten what washers were! Yeah if you haven't used nordic washers before they are rated excellent and save using loctite, so quick brake pad changes can be made.

I live between Marton & Feilding but come into Palm nth often. Txt 0204200254

Great set-up on an E30, works really well and doesn't  need massive wheels to fit. Highly recommended!

Did you refurb the calipers or were they done before you bought them? I am looking for a rebuild kit for mine.

Sorry, forgot to respond to your question: I had an engineer clean and fit new seals etc seeing I was selling them on. I did mine but I'm not accredited mechanically to do others. Rather be safe than sorry.

  9. Thanks for the like minded accolade to the e30/RX7 combination Jon. Just sold this set, buyer must have read your postive comment. Thank you, I can say it was unsolicited too

I have had and put them on x3 e30's now. Can't find the uTube clip showing the braking improvement. There are lots of expensive kit out there that don't perform any better than these I reckon. I know we science to prove the point.

On my track e30 gained another 70 metres later braking with help of race pads and new rubber and ><2 sec lap times, no science used, straight to the jugular.

Found using nordic washers instead of loctite great for quick pad changing too.

Also trying with stainless pins in preference to plain steel, haven't managed yet to find a stockist of smaller size nordic  to use nut too yet.Not sure how nyloc lasts on race heat pads.

I now only have x1 bracket and rotor pair left. Started with putting the three kits & seven pairs together.

  10. Was keeping this set for an e30 build but need the doors for my race car, so parting roller now.

Prospective buyer has reneged too,in paying any money over and now some interest from another selling site has prompted this post:

    *2x RX7 re-built Calipers

    *2x New Machined Rotors

    *2X Adaptor Brackets

    *2x Brake Hose adaptors

(Have new bolts & nordic washers available for extra)

    $600 from on here

  11. A pair of new e30/RX7 rotors

    $160 for Bimmesporters

Does not come with caliper or roto shown, what you get is just the two boxes with wrapped rotors, after they were machined.

Last pair. Also I was told by Repco these were the last ones they had to sell in NZ ,discontinued by their supplier sales person said.

  12. 1.Have an M50 engine, on the  block l can read 31250976 and underneath these nos.20 6S 2. What cc engine wouldthis be?

The sump is at the rear of the block suggesting it came out of an e36,I believe.

    2. Hoping it is an  M50B2.5TU and whether it would match up to a e46 manual gearbox and which wiring loom and ECU would best be used?
