    Sold the e30 conversion big 6, now can move this one and take better pics. Also hope to add 'long block' and other pieces of M30 in the shed (no head though-gone) foe a comprehensive spares package..

  4. I haven't had time to follow through on codes on these engines (Found numbers, thanks to Brent, of bmw world fame) this engine has eng#:42154566 & eng code: 34 FKB ( auto eng code 34 6KB). All B35 are 3400 odd cc so letters narrow what spec they are I guess. This engine has the Gargastic e30 engine mounts. Have to check the auto.( if any are attached). From late this afternoon I'm away most of the next 2 weeks, from a computer, so won't catch up on things till the 15th march. The auto, from what I have gleaned, should splice into the e28 loom ok, either using e28 one or the auto I believe. Cheers
  5. A request from a South Islander seeking a Big 6. Only interested in selling complete package at this stage. Have another Big six which was a spare to this one on here and TM at the moment too. If these don't sell on this 'selling cycle' I will be picking some parts off this to fit the other to our e28 525e whose engine 350k kms on and is our tow vehicle and couldn't think of a better use.   6. Yeah, haven't managed to get my M3 out of the Akld grid locked traffic, to date, to get it across that tiny bridge to head north and let rip on the diminishing bituman roading.

Yeah, American Muscle cars now flooding in too, so people have more choices here. 10-20% of top earners have the ability to control the markets and diversify where they spread their spending money. Big shed, under climate control, on a rural land banked block with infinite vehicle numbers stashed brings a better yield than money in the bank in most cases. The CGT (if it gets past the post) and GST (not easily collected) will increase the demand for 'collectable' motor vehicles ( what ever the definition of 'collectable' is these days.) The e30 M3 does have a finite number worldwide and it's origin, history, reputation and desirability of having an ultimate period car is a definite target for the collectors.
  8. Did he think that was a fair price? I wonder how many e30 M3's there are in NZ. Japanese M3's imports certainly have been pumped into NZ too, a supply for the demand perhaps. For any sale to occur there has to be a willing seller and a willing buyer coming to an agreement. The 3x e30 M3 I notice on TM all are asking $125k with a lot of interest and none of selling very fast.
  9. Noticing several e30 m3's coming through Trade Me recently with asking price tags well over $100K. Have there been any e30 M3's sold over the last year or so in NZ? I was England a couple of years ago and saw price tags over NZ$200k even those showing the patina of time and age.. I follow a couple of the sites in the US and our pricing seems similar to them. Is it our lack of people or do people with the money not buying?

    Thanks Brent for clarifying the different engines. I also have an M30 block how do I identify whether it is B34 or B35 or is it just the internals that are different? It has 171------- in front of the engine number. Is 171 a code? have have noticed 171 on another engine I used once, forgotten origin of that one though. Cheers

    I think the googling inference is maybe saying if you have an M30B34 208bhp one its a lot of work changing to an M30B35 218bhp and not worth the expense and time. They made M30B#$ and M30B35 for different markets I believe. If I'm wrong someone will correct this, I am sure.Cheers

    I have two e28 528e's one with 300k km's; but have one other project consuming all the spare cash and time I have presently, but with all that torque and supposed 218bhp on tap would make an excellent towing car...

    Thanks for your interest MS. It is an M30B35 which were made from 1968 -1992 in various configurations. Apparently there have been many examples that have covered over 500,000kms reported. It is likely to be a 1990's version being in the e34. I believe it came out of an e34 535i and was under the 200,000. It has a the loom, PS, AC, Air meter. It has clean exterior and still has oil in it I try to remember to turn it over every now and then. Just needs an ECU tomake it go i.e. an 0 261 200 179 one. I do have a complete M30B35 too on TM which came out of a running car too, a plug - in- and-go for an e30 conversion. cheers

    Thanks guys for your collective and valued words of wisdom and reason. Some of us live behind our own dung-heaps and can't see the other side. 'It is what it is', I'll leave it for another keeper to decide then. I've included another picture or four of the car which could be an option a prospective purchaser may prefer too.

    Thanks for your response. I am in a quandary currently about whether I remove the roll-cage now and put headlining and carpeting back in to make it a four seater and more suited to cruising - what do you reckon?

    This dual purpose e30 has undertaken a somewhat 'transgender' change over the Christmas break from being a drive/race-to-and-from-motorsport-events vehicle to a more a road/cruise friendly vehicle. Hopefully the pictures relay what is being offered for sale here. This vehicle now has re-upholstered front seats. NB Sparco Race seats have been removed. There are new rear ones which could be fitted with the removal of the rear roll cage, reasonably straight forward operation.   21. See this was sold on Turners live auction today. Not sure exactly but around $450- 475 mark plus Turners $280 fees I believe. Shame it had been de-reg'd though as it looked easily repairable with some paint being most of the cost I would think. Wondering if anyone on this forum bought it?

  23. The time has come to down-size the number of road/race cars being 'kept' by us. #1: This example started it's road/race conversion around 2013, we believe We became the 'keepers' in 2015. We like the notion of: arrive-drive-and-drive-it-home motorsport vehicles. Its earlier years saw it transformation towards a show-car-motorsport-vehicle and latterly as more a race-car. Its current use has the patina of a race-car and a new 'keeper' may decide whether to revert it to a 'show-car'. It has a log book with two motorsport entries, the last one in 2017 one race win thus far. The pics show 'the thousand words' of the specs. Any questions after that we hopefully can answer. As most people know, a sale needs a willing seller and a willing buyer to agree what something is worth. So we are the willing sellers at $12,500 for this to start the ball rolling for this one.   24. Took a 'big hit' at Manfield on our e30's left-side at the weekend Front and rear doors (opal-green metallic coloured) very much needed asa. I do have a good e30 saloon shell with Black doors which could be used, but painting them opal-green is a huge cost that I can't afford at the moment in, the scheme of things; I wouldn't have a water-tight shell (albeit I could put the damaged ones in I suppose.) I would exchange a sound saloon black shell for an opal-green shell OR just the doors exchanged OR a purchase of both opal-green left-side doors OR Lastly just an opal-green left front door. Appreciate any assistance in locating some e30 opal-green saloon doors. Sorry lost my mobile at the moment but landline 063288657 after 7pm best and/or message so I can back to you.
