Josh, spotted you yesterday in the E30 heading up the twistys on the hill before Warkworth :-)

I hit a bird the other day and looks like it has knocked one of these pieces out. Facing the car it is the RHS low beam light - #4 in this illustration. Any takers ? Thanks. Single parts f ellipsoidal headlight - BMW parts catalog

I noticed when I reused mine on my 16"s there was a fine line when torquing them up - you could feel the bolts stretching and you need to be carefull not to push their limits. If I do them again I will buy new bolts.

Yeah mate, I was gone by around 12pm - I was on my way to Hamilton for work so it tied in pretty well. You arrived later on ? -

I drove a mint facelift E39 M5 several months ago in Le Mans Blue when I was looking before I bought the M3. This one wasn't advertised but they are around if you put enough feelers out. Had all the desirable options including fold down rear seats, BMW FSH, NZ New and it was a 2003. Asking price was low $30's. It was perfect and I'd driven a lot to compare against. If the M3 hadn't come along I would have bought it.

Yes, its scary, I am becoming more like you ! I saw some LM's on an E30 yesterday and they looked so tough !

Whats the stud pattern, offset and width mate ?

It can easily be done on a budget if you don't mind a bit of elbow grease and a few blisters, and is very rewarding. I did mine for easily less then $200 dollars and that included getting kerbage removed on all four wheels ( I recomend Brugers on the Nth Shore for this) From this: To this: Have fun !

E30 kick panel and tweeter removal
philwalter replied to philwalter's topic in Audio & In Car Entertainment
Gouba, should I be removing this part as well from the pod or does that stay in for the aftermarket tweeter ? -
If you were serious about owning a eurospec EVOII, you would pick one up a nice one in the UK for around $NZD40k with the current xchange rate. No probs getting it compiled being pre-1990 and add another $NZD10k in shipping, compliance and GST. You would just need to be carefull of the common pitfalls when buying an ex UK car with rust/salted roads. That is the advantage a NZ New one has...pros and cons either way I guess.

I made some inquirys on the CHCH car when it first came on the market but decided not to take it any further. Did the dealer have any service history or documentation with it to back up the mileage and did the appearance of the car match the 50clicks on the odo ? Very very low if they are genuine.

E30 kick panel and tweeter removal
philwalter replied to philwalter's topic in Audio & In Car Entertainment
Post up a link if you like mate, I think I remember seeing them also, but can't find them now. There are also some lower end Focal components for $200 a set as well. My tweeters look to be factory ( triangular bits inside the car opposite the mirrows) how do I get the plastic off to get into the tweeter assembly. Do I need to take the door cards off. Don't want to break them - I figure they are probably hard to come by. Thanks ! -

Thats awesome advice and pics, thanks mate !! -
Wanting to replace the factory speakers and tweeters with some components. Is there a simple way to remove the kick panels to get to the speakers behind ? Had a bit of a poke around but didn't get very far. And if anyone had any top quality 5.25 component speakers for sale I could be interested. Thanks

Nothing hard about driving a LHD in NZ, especially on a car that is most likely going to be driven on sunny days on the open road. Hardest thing to get used to is shifting and playing with the stereo with your right hand. Seen this car about a few times, and its a stunner.

Wow - will also be keeping an eye. Where did the E30 shell come from ? Are those some Style 5's in the background up for grabs ?

Now wearing some new shoes, some 16x8 BBS RS's.
