  1. I drove this car nearly a year ago. It was for sale back then ( but not advertised to the masses). Drove it the same day I bought my M3. It was a good drive too. The owner lives out in the country and wasn't afraid to give it some - and let me do the same. It drove very well, felt good and tight and not down on power like some others I drove. The folding rear seats are a handy and rare option, but its a shame they are the colour they are..I guess you'd get used to it. The general overall condition was very good also, the owner is an enthusiast and has looked after it well. Would have been expensive replacing the VANOS as well.. I probably dodged a bullet there. First sub $30k facelift I have seen, good buy.
  2. Do you know how many of the later 3.8L cars we have here SS ?
  3. $1200, and your half way to a Carbon intake/Alpha N....do it !!!

    My new car

Chap in the USA makes replica Sport Evo splitters that are an exact mould of the original. The genuine ones are made of carbon and very brittle ( and expensive). This is neither carbon, plastic nor fiberglass ....something else, but I think it adds a nice touch to the front of the car. Mine arrived today and this is just a mock up to get it right, but I think its pretty close. Its just a few screws under the bumper so can easily be removed again down the line if required. Also yesterday I picked up new Bilstein Sport shocks and H&R Sport springs from our forum sponsor SUSPENSION. They won't lower the car much but the ride will improve 100%. Just waiting on a shipment to arrive which includes all new shock mounts and also all the bits for a total rebuild on my shifter to cure an annoying buzz and then its fun times ahead Over winter I plan to do a full restore on the BBS RS's.
  5. Damn....just spent USD$700 with them last week
  6. Radiator fan is coming on if thats what you mean ? Did a test, left idiling in the driveway. Water temp gauge came up to 3/4 mark, fan came on and went back down to around half way mark which seems normal. So maybe its fine - and just replace radiator cap as that is leaking pressure for sure.
  7. My M3 seems to be leaking a decent amount of coolant ( out of the overflow pipe by the looks) and when in stop start traffic the temp rises very quickly and up to a temp to be of concern. Would a leaky radiator cap be the problem ? With the cap on I can blow up through the overflow hose and hear the air leaking out of the cap. This shouldn't happen right ? Thanks :-)
  8. Car is awesome - love it, and no problems so far. So many people complain they are a money pit but touch wood....as of yet mine hasn't been. Though saying that I have just ordered a new set of Bilstein Sport and H&R Sport springs off our forum sponsor SUSPENSION so it will handle even better soon as the original setup is getting a bit tired. Yes the sunroof is on the 'to do very soon' list. It is the same as any E30 sunroof so will just find a nice panel at somestage, get it painted and swap them over. Will probably also do a full proper restore on the BBS's over winter and get them perfect. Yep, just live across the valley in Grey Lynn :-)
  9. Woohoo.....my first spot !! You must have been the person the New World worker warned me of !! She warned me someone had been loitering around my car when I got back to it LOL
  10. I can't offer first hand advice, but I was looking at an E36 M3 a few years ago, and everything I was told and read about was to stay well clear of the 1st generation SMG in the E36 and try to find a manual if I could.
  11. I guess you are after a convertable, but I've allways thought this Evo with 6spd box, NZ New and decent kms is good buying ? http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=350170073

    Classic Car show.

As an M3 fan I loved the BMW display - spent as much time as I could generally around the E30's untill the sun drove me into some shade. Eric's car made me re-think about restoring my 16" OEM rims and putting them on. - SS - Martin is the manager, also a very nice guy, but Eric owns the M3. He has a photo of it on the wall in his workshop :-) Anyone know who made the podium ?

Did anyone notice the concave covers over the lights of the Sport Evo ? You only really noticed when looking from side on - was that some factory option ? I didn't really see what purpose they served.

The guy that owned the red E30 M3 up for juding is a nice chap. He is a mechanic at Combes in Hamilton (handy when restoring an M3 ) and did the pre purchase inspection on my M3. He bought his car in from England and has been working away at it for quite a while. Though he confessed he has hardly driven it since the finish of the resto. I told him to take the long twisty way home to Hamilton and give it the good thrashing those cars love
  15. Does NZ have any of the 'baby M3's', the E30 320is ? They were sold in Italy and Portugal.

From BMW Club Intermarque Concours at Ellerslie Race Course on Sunday 13th Feb. The Club will have a display celebrating the 25th Anniversary of the M3. There will be road & race versions of every model as well as a 2 very special cars to be judged. We will be in the same area, at the top of the hill
  17. What was the power ATW Lawrence with the 2.5 + mods ?
  18. A stock M3 is worth more then a modded one. Though saying that, a CF airbox sure sounds nice...are there much power gains to be had though ?
  19. Lovely car - good photography as well !
  20. Here are some of my shots. Hopefully next time I will have my car on the track. Really enjoyed the short time I was able to spend there yesterday.
  21. Hi Keith. I would be interested in a price for a full set of H&R Sport Springs for an E30 M3. Approximate lowering, 1.0 Inch Front, 0.75 Inch Rear. Also looks for Bilstein Sport struts for same car if anyone sells them ?
  22. I was hoping to make it, but now have to work at the T20 Cricket final in Auckland that afternoon. What time will you kick off in the morning ?
  23. I like your front splitter, seems to sit well on the standard spoiler - is it genuine or aftermarket and where did you get it from ? I am considering one of these for mine http://www.s14.net/forums/showthread.php?t=44098
  24. Is that an Alpha N carbon intake on the S14 ? Are you selling it ?
