Now there's an idea. I'd rather see an M5 Ute racing in the celebrity support races than a 116i (or are they 120i's?) at next years Melbourne F1.

One quote I heard was that it was a "high performance BMW". I would hardly call a 730 high performance.

If you're on the shore (Aucks), try Als Upholstery. Did a great job on the wifes E36.

You can get into trouble in any car irrelevant of power etc. My first and only real fright I've had in a car was at the age of 15 in my mothers 60 Hp Triumph Herald. I found the limitations of the rear suspension, and although I got it on two wheels, thankfully it didn't get the shiny side down! The 325 is an ideal car in my opinion, a good mixture of quality build with adequate levels of power, torque and good handling. I actually intended to keep it for my kids when they start driving in a few years, but medical issues have forced a rethink on that. In the right hands and with the right driver training, I think it's ideal, but I am trying to sell it. Please phone me for a test drive. I am a very approachable bloke and happy for the right people to have a look. Don't bid without trying first. I'm amazed no-one has test driven it, yet there are two bids. Cheers, Jock

Agree, three good cars of the 5 car garage, just add X7 (when it comes) and 599 Berlinetta Ferrari to top it off.

I'll bring them along to Galbraiths next week. A guy from Roxbrugh has already grabbed the Road and Track Tests.

Cheers Graham, what did you pay for it out of interest? I found this one in a garage sale. Has text in English, German and one other language. I studied girls rather than languages at school!.

Just deliver them all to my place! You didn't restrict how many we could have did you?

Guys Just listed 4 BMW books for sale on Trade Me. http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=98083905 2 of them are absolutely wonderful works of art. Happy to sell them to a BS member first. Feel free to ring and make a time to have a look over a coffee. Almost too good to sell, would rather they were available for all to see. Cheers, Jocko, 0272 511 843

Ok all, the car didn't sell on Tard Me last week at $5.5k reserve or $6k buy now. Had over 60 watchers though. I've contacted (or tried to) those who made contact during the auction and there are no biters. Later this week it goes on Tard Me at $1 reserve..... yes $1 reserve, you heard (or read) right. This is your last chance at $5k, no offers. It goes on Tard Me on Friday, $1 reserve. Please don't waste my time asking for a test drive and not showing up, and don't offer me less than $5k. Grrrrrrr. If you want it, ring me, make a time to drive it, and if you want it pay the cash. No swaps, I need the money. Here's more photos too. Cheers, Jock. (I'm actually a really nice guy, just frightening off the wankers out there) 0272 511 843

My german plates are f****** illegal now ...
StylesM5 replied to joshnz's topic in General Discussion
From what I can gather, the other issue is that your plates denote that the car is registered in Germany, not here. A technicality I know, but relevant. We had a laugh on our OE in 92 when our friends Combie which was a real shitbox, got pinged in Austria. The cop was throwing the book at him, when he saw the "NZ" sticker on the back, and couldn't believe the van had made it "all the way from New Zealand". The fact it had made it from London was a minor miracle!! -
It's a lot of coin today!!!!!

All good comments. In reality I'm not interested in the swap, just looking to rationalise the garage somewhat with some hefty treatment bills coming up. I could probably never have one of these after the E34 M5. Such a let down!! When the time is right again, the garage would still have a fairly new, common (read Ford) as a daily driver and a Z3 M Coupe breadvan as the fun car. Oh to have money <sigh>
