what does the crank pulley look like? Does it have a whole bunch of teeth on it around the edge? (motronic 1.3) or is it smooth around the edge (motronic 1.1) Your ecu is motronic 1.3, has 3 rows of pins, motronic 1.1 has 2 rows of pins. Check the engine loom ecu plug, I suspect it will be 2 row type from the age of the motor you quote.

Is your air filter box metal or plastic? Metal ones use a larger panel filter than the plastic ones.

Andrew, Motronic 1.1 uses sensors on the bellhousing, l-jetronic uses the distributor so doesn't need sensors. Motronic 1.3 uses the sensor on the crank pulley and one on the ht lead. Will

that is the motor I am talking about, it is part of the switch, bugger to get to and all it does is suck air in so it can judge how cold the cabin temp is.. just turn the stereo louder!!

There is a small motor inside your blower/ aircon unit that can be noisy. One of my e30's has this problem but I havn't got round to fixing it yet as it is a relatively big job to get to it and not worth the hassle in most cases imo.. (but I will fix it sometime hahaha)

Measuring them probably won't help, they are probably set at the same height as a standard spring but with a different rate. If anything, they might make your car sit higher.. My 'vert sat rather high when I first got it so ditched the springs for superlow King ones. Pic of it while still standard, make your own mind up...
