If i was going to have a weekend car, it would far more impracticle than a bmw. Also it would drive me mad (no pun intended), to have my ride sitting there, not being used all week, while youd be rocking something boring everyday.If i had a weekend car it probably wouldnt have pistons.

What else is there?

sh*t that's harsh, you are supposed to be reimbursed milage at the IRD approved rate which is $0.62 per km.I claim that rate for work use, was bloody good for my recent work that had me travelling to Cambridge/ Te Awamutu at least once a week for 4 months. 0.62 is the rate up to 3000km, then it drops to 0.19.0.28 is the flat rate. That means i get over $100 for every tank i use, so i make money. (its meant to cover maint. also) I do large kms, so flat rate is prefered.

THe reality hit me yesterday. No more company fuel card (but i get millage so i get payed back @0.28 per km - so i make a lil bit), but i have to pay for gas first. $50 of 98 only filled up half a tank! 98 is definately better than 96 tho. What about getting 91, and octane booster, would that be cheaper/sweet?

With your 9k turbo budget, and your car liquidated, surely you could create this with change left over? That doesnt seem too high. From what I have seen it would cost you more than $150 to ship here from UK, so $199 isn't that much to have risk free product in NZ.

But there is the issue of "genuine article". m325i/sports do have small options (eg. completely de-chromed) that would be difficult (and fairly pointless) to create a m325i/sport identicle to the genuine thing. Therefore although you can create an 'm325i/sport' like car, but it is not identicle. So it doesn't have the intrinsic value added due to rareness. (which is probably minimal ATM) I could put a 4age and LSD in an AE85 corolla, that doesnt make it an AE86. Oh and the pre FL m20 does go harder than the FL.... biartches.

The only difference between an m325i and 325i is what is listed above. if any of that is removed, its not the real deal anymore.If i took the engine out of an m3 and swapped it with a 1800cc engine, its not an m3 anymore. IMO it may have been 'genuine' at one stage, but if you take parts off it that made it 'genuine' in the first place, then how can you claim it is still 'genuine'? You can certainly say it WAS genuine, but now it is missing pieces that made people pay $80k for it back in the day.
