  1. @Wade13

These photos show the drivers and passengers side respectively. The rust appears to be isolated to the sun roof roof part.

it is not visible from above, if you’d only cranked the roof away rather then pushed the back up you’d never know it was there.

there do not appear to be any Staines in the roof lining indicating water ingress in that region.

  2. Ah yes, I have previously owned a e39 540 motorsport (and an e34 540iS (Ohhhh yes, the iS))

I did find them to be somewhat lacking in the steering/braking department, the ability to be able to leave your boot right up the gas as late as possible without typically reaching lethal speed in a car that corners much faster is relaxing.

  3. Howdy folks, this questions has probably been asked over the years but here we go again.

    im tempted by two cars

2001 E39 540i w/ 265,000km, chain guides, brakes, shocks and springs all new, gearbox reconditioned. $5000

2002 E46 330i w/ 160,000km unsure of any specific maintenance work completed. It’s a private sale so nothing to link.

I’m looking at moving out In to the wops, so I’ll have both twisties and long straights to contend with.

I’ve never owned or driven an E46, but I loved the crap out of both my e30 323 and e36 328, the latter was more than fine on long trips.

would love to hear thoughts from all on this particular conundrum.

Running out of time and space so up for grabs is my 1985 BMW E28 525e.

These came with a factory installed and built M20B27 Stroker for flat torque and fuel efficiency.

It has an astonishing 424,324 km on the clock. Considering the age and mileage, in my opinion, the condition of the car is nothing short of remarkable.

It comes with its original black plates which are live and on hold. MI9956. Just 4 more years til cheap rego for classics.

What it needs to get back on the road is the oil pump rebuilt or replaced, I’m half way through removing it, with that done and the car returned to the road in my opinion it’s easily a 5k car. Follow that up with a respray and a touch of new chrome around the windows and it’s easily a 7k car.

The only rust I’ve found thus far is confined to the rear corners of the sun roofs roof. The sunroof winder is present but needs repaired or replaced.

It won’t start with the key due to what I understand to be a fairly common fault with these cars. So I crank it using the diagnostic port.

comes with new dizzy rotor, cap and spark plugs

It’s possible a bunch of suspension bushes or boots could cause issues during a Wof, but it will depend where you take it.

    No holds

    No stupid offers

Swaps for road going BMW or 4x4 considered.

Located in Aranui, but if you hire a trailer and put for fuel/ferry etc I’ll deliver it.

    $1500

needs to go, house selling, no space at the new place.

    SOLD
