Anyone know how many of these are floating round the country?

Currently have a 3.0si with the auto which is pretty good and I absolutely love the cars looks, noise, driving and so on, however cant help but feel the car would be an absolute keeper with a manual transmission attached instead.

In the past few years of watching trademe I don't feel like I have seen any pop up for sale, and scouring through the japanese auction sites it seems next to impossible to find one with a manual trans other than a full Z4M version (budget not quite there presently).  Perhaps they were never offered in manual in the Japanese market?     UK on the other hand appears like most were delivered with the manual box.

Then the million $$ question, has there been any successful manual swaps?  Imagine the cost would not be worth it unless you could do it all yourself?

We can do a manual conversion on yours. Have done both E85 and E86 3.0s in the past.

Complete kit includes install/coding etc. available with us @HELLBM

    Call to discuss if interested.

I have somehow managed to damage and break the L shape sensor connect on the back of my E90 Active steering rack.

I know the unit is the motor position sensor and that same ebmpapst produced motor/sensor combo was used on a range of BMW models between 2008 and 2013. I also know that BMW have a part number for replacing that same style end cap sensor with L shaped connector on E60 models (Part # 32106769232).

I cannot find that sensor as a stand alone item. I cant even find the combined motor with sensors used on various models steering racks as an individual part number. NZ wreckers seem to be cleaned out of active steering racks with undamaged connectors which kind of shows these items are a common failure point. BMW dealership quoted me $5,500 for a whole new steering rack...

The are refurbished steering racks online which to me says there must be an avenue for purchasing the EBMPAPST components. If anyone knows where to acquire or has a steering rack with that same sensor for wrecking then please get in touch!

FYI Picture is for visual reference and not my actual steering rack.

If nothing else I feel this is a good vent about how BMW pillage us. They have exploded diagrams showing the individual components of a steering rack which seems pointless if they wont sell them.

is this the same e87 that had the s65 in it? (that car was the same colour plus it had the m140 badge on the rear hatch).  This thing would be a wolf in sheeps clothing, for sure!

Yes it had an S65 for awhile. A friend of mine bought it then decided that she liked a E82 that we had and it was.

`Could you put the s65 into the E82 so we duly oblidged`

So this car has been in an accident which then resulted in a fire. Engine is done. Carbon fibre roof is wrecked etc. rear of body is in okay condition. Is there any point in trying to sell for parts? Any advice? Insurance won’t cover the accident. It’s a 2020 M4 manual.

    Call us @HELLBM

lol - I love how "Condition Based Servicing" sucks so much - engine oil change in 34,000 kms FFS. 🙄

Of course this is not a reflection on the seller, nor does it detract from what is ultimately a great deal.

    GLWS!

No more than 5000k`s on all my cars between oil changes.
