Trying to get one of my loans back from BMW at the moment - maybe I need to start charging rental 😅😅😅 they’ve had it for over a year now, I wonder if they’ve lost it!

Good used condition E46 M3 Vanos unit. For S54B32 engine I was told it came off an engine with around 70k km before it was converted to fixed cam timing for racing. Have had it for numerous years and kept as a spare. Was intending on doing a rebuild to it but never got around to it. Includes oil pump disc and vanos MCU No pressure regulator valve $800 0212810155

Armstrong in East Tamaki can cut them it’s considered a 4 side cut so expect to pay 4x the cost of a normal key. I have blanks and chips if you need them.

A no options CSL is 1385kg corner weight scale checked. Your aircon and radio versions are around 1405kg. 1570kg is actually the BMW quoted number and I have seen them on scales much heavier (over 1600kg) The amount of bespoke items that went into making the e46 M3 CSL light is mind blowing and till this day we are still discovering items that weren’t listed correctly in the ETK or official documents that were implemented to shave a few kgs here and there.

Common misconception 1570kg - 1385kg it’s 185kg weight savings. The M4 CSL is merely one via marketing, I am more interested when the real deal CSL Hommage is released with all of its genuine weight saving strategy and manual gearbox and rear wheel drive. Just a shame it’s so limited and so expensive. And when you have to resort to this type of marketing to sell a car a manufacturer really has lost the plot on what Motorsport stands for🤷🏻♂️ IMG_3012.MOV

Porsche 992 GT3 - 1418kg This is not a CSL - I rest my case.

Brand new BMW Tyre pressure sensors. Fit multiple cars I believe from 1 series all the way to X cars. Had to get one for my X6 but ended up buying a set. No longer have the car but have 3 sensors left. All brand new not used. $50 each

Watch the vanos work videos from fayboys garage on youtube from about 3 years ago Perhaps the best videos I have seen for these work better than Beisan’s instructions Also you want to check the pin needle bearing for the oil pump disc - people think the failure is the result of disc and hub tolerance issues - not 100% true.

Genuine used M3 CSL battery. Few years old. See photos for detail $100 brand new they are $350?

Why would carbon roof be an issue?

I like to think of the smg gearbox as an unfinished manual gearbox because that’s essentially what it is. The bell housing is slightly different in terms of machining for certain additional components but the main gearbox is the same sans a gear position sensor (not needed for conversion) and different tension springs for gear indent (again you can keep the smg ones) and you need to add bell housing detents (holes already there) it’s just drilling through. You can fit a manual gearbox to a smg car snd vice versa. They are identical just finished differently.

Hmmm rather not have to deal with people asking idiotic questions and stuff to be honest. As I get older my tolerance (or lack of it) for people that don’t bother to do research and expect a brand new car when buying something with 189k km has decreased significantly. I used to try and not offend with replies now I just prefer to offend so idiots will f**k off.

I am more surprised people pay $50k+ for one without many of the critical work need doing having been done yet no one wants one at with all the hard stuff done.

Production cars with fixed backed seats and OE parts swapped into the same production chassis of another model variant come under different rules - the LVVT rules don’t apply to it. A good illustration of this is the Porsche GT3 which come with coilovers and adjustable antiroll bars from the factory and do not require certification even though they are actually made by H&R Bilstein not Porsche. So for eg if you put e46 m3 csl seats into any e46 chassis the front fixed buckets don’t need to be certified. The CSL seats tilts and slides with the side lever and provides an access width of 35 at the top and 31cm at the narrowest area. I had the BK mounts on factory sliders on the driver seat in my Yellow M3 and those don’t give quite enough forward clearance at all points on the forward most setting - so with those sliders it should technically fail. Ironically the electric sliders actually have a wider forward range so apparently with those it should give more than the required 300mm width for clearance - questionable however if those will pass as they cannot give immediate forward clearance for rear seat passengers to get out in case they need to. The mechanism for release doesn’t have to be strictly at the side of the seat it just needs to be easily accessible for the rear seat passenger without hinderance or overreach. You’ll need to be aware however aftermarket welding to any part of the seat mechanism is not allowed for aftermarket seats. So it is questionable if you can modify the mounts for release mechanisms that way - I believe each certifier have a different interpretation of this rule. I’ll go and put the BK slider in my yellow car later and do a measure but from memory it was around 280mm clearance at some areas and deemed it insufficient.

Just FYI You will not be legally allowed to run rear seats and belts if you don’t have at least one fixed bucket seat with tilt forward capability. You will also not be able to certify the car as a 5 seater if you can’t tilt at least one bucket seat for rear seat access. It’s not a distance to access thing unfortunately.
