  1. If Porsche stuck a Boxster engine in a 911 body and called it a GT3 Porsche owners would never buy that car. BMW does it to a 1 series - an ugly one at that (Z4 engine in a 1 body) and all the BMW fan boys go crazy over the car and thinks it’s the bees knees. It’s not a M car just a marketing spin. No one will ever convince me otherwise.
  2. Going to agree to disagree here. The US S52 was an emission related designation and the M spec engines did get some M rework if I am not mistaken. This differs significantly to the 1M engine which is a complete production engine. When BMW offer the same engine first in a z4 35iS you know they fluffed it by calling it a M car. Anyways we should all believe BMW that that G20 is going to beat them all ... or have they just Banksy’d themselves and doubled the price of the CSL : P https://jalopnik.com/bmw-is-tired-of-your-sh*t-1829635007
  3. Lack of S engine not a true M car Never was never will be one and finally the market have realised this and prices have started to reflect this fact. Marketing gimmic to ever call this a M car. To me this was the defining moment BMW M went downhill and everything just needed a badge to be a M
  4. I’ve yet to come across a cable that doesn’t require switching between K and D and I own loads of them!!! Most of the time the cables are shipped in D Can mode which can still talk to earlier K Line cars because pins 7 and 8 are bridged The better cables are shipped without this bridge and have an adaptor that bridge the two pins for K line cars. The cheapercable vendors then built a manual toggle switch to bridge this and called it K&D Can capable. Post 08 cars require true D can, so it may just be that your cable was shipped in K line state instead of D Can state. As I said, I’ve never seen a cable (especially those clear ones) that don’t require software switching to be fully functional.
  5. Search for the following 2 utility software depending on cable firmware you will need one or the other
  6. Most of these type of cables require a software switch to turn it from K to D can Have you tried this yet? Also not all protocol chat through line 7 and 8 so when switching to D can you need to disconnect the bridge. I find operator error more often than cable error with these things.
  7. That’s only one section of the airbox you’ve got the other parts also which is about the same price again ... My understanding from Die Wethje is they made a last batch of these airboxes (some 200 or so I believe) for BMWAG and will not be making any more after this. Here’s the one I have for sale ... If authenticity isn’t required then I would recommend the Karbonius version ... it is as good as OE at a fraction of the cost (about 35% of an original intake). You’d struggle to tell the sound difference apart (I can personally just hearing it drive by but not many would know and dyno figures show equivalent performance).
  8. Appreciate the responses!!! Exactly what I needed!! Thank you all!!! Anyone with a spare rubber tube that attaches to that connector sitting around want to sell?? Please contact me thank you!
  9. Can someone show me what connects to this connector on the intake manifold? Is it a particular Norma snap on fitting or is it just a rubber tube?? also what is the OD and ID of this fitting??
  10. Shape wise they are fairly close - a little more chunky in places. the paint colour is quite a bit off obviously weight wise they are heavier but not significantly to be honest good thing about these is the front offset means you can use bmw performance brembo 6 pot brakes without spacers for clearance unlike the stock CSL rims which require a 3mm spacer minimum. Also these are actually a smidgent wider than the advertised 8.5” and 9.5” width meaning you can actully run 245 and 275 width tyres without it looking narrow.
  11. Genuine BMW motorsport WTCC/ETCC carbon plenum for P54B20 made by the famous Die Wethje Gmbh I honestly don’t know too much about this intake ... got it because I was having a carbon fetish at the time !!! $2000 well used racecar part so don’t expect it to be mint or undamaged or have everything - most likely to have parts missing ect from it.
  12. Hmmmm ok I must have remembered incorrectly how much I got mine for but it was definitely more than that. Oh well must meet the market I suppose!!! $1700 for the rims only but buyer can pay to have the tyres stripped off and take the risk!!! price edited!
  13. Really not a fan of the E90 wheels sorry!! They just don’t suit the E46 body in my opinion. Thanks for asking regardless!
  14. Near new M3 CSL replica wheels in Hyper Silver Fronts 19x8.5 et 38 Rears 19x9.5 et 27 pcd 5 x 120 CB 72.6 (ie No hub centric ring required) These are known as one of the best replica wheels around from CM wheels UK Has had Cup2 tyres mounted and test mounted on car and driven once that’s it. So practically brand new. $1600 forgot to add - no center caps!! I lost them moving stuff around and must have accidentally thrown them out!
  15. Will include genuine Karbonius carbon fibre mounting brackets (very very rare)! $3800
  16. Price drop $600 - want them gone - May require slight repair as I am told there is a slight bend in both fronts - I had no idea when I got them and the car it came off wasn’t a crashed example so I had no reason to suspect. Personally I didn’t notice when I had them on the car but I’ve only ever used them to drive around at legal speed limits and nothing over 100km/h They balance fine I am told by the tyre shop but on the machine they noticed a slight bend on the balancing machine. No idea about the rears assumed to be straight but no guarantees
  17. Near new Falken Azenis FK453 changed for Michelin Super Sports due to inability to get rear sizing in this tyre. $300 for the pair no repairs or damage or uneven wear
  18. It’s ok I don’t mind personally with the off topic comments.
  19. https://www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/news/article.cfm?c_id=1&objectid=12099111 Read the above article today and it gave me a sense of deja vu with what has been happening with my family. We saw 5 different GPs for my son who all flogged us off as crazy parents before I self diagnosed him after reading countless number of medical journals and articles (luckily for me I had friends in the medical community that could access Doctors only material for me) and then finally an overseas diagnose we were able to obtain via video link and subsequent travel overseas for a specialist to see him. If we waited around for either private or public system we’d not even get an appointment for a good 6 months+ for a paediatric neurologist. I have come to the conclusion that the NZ healthcare system is beyond broken, the GPs are undertrained, lack the desire and drive to dig deeper with patient concerns. My suggestion to all those out there seeking medical help - google the hell out of it and keep querying the “professionals” - not everyone can know everything even with a decade of medical training. Arm yourself with knowledge and don’t take one diagnosis at face value. Always be skeptical and follow your instincts. If a doctor tell you to stop googling, find another. Rant over!
  20. If you were actually intending on purchase then I can understand your comment. But I am just going to give you the benefit of doubt that you are not yet a parent and don’t have the capacity to grasp what this all means for me and my family. one day when you are I want you to reflect back on this post and you will realise what I am talking about. I sincerely hope also you or anyone here never experience what we are going through ... when no material possession matters or mean anything any longer and you are constantly in tears at the thought of what the most precious thing in life really is.
