  1. Yes indeed. Swen plans every detail of every shot he does. Was quite a process setting this up.

Nice pics man! looks like a damn nice place for pics.

Also, what tricks did you use to clean your weaves? mine are so filthy.

15 mins with a rag and soap haha.

  2. Just one picture. A new friend of a friend who is now a friend of mine, Swen Carlin, is an amazing protographer. You have probably seen a lot of his work on Billboards in Auckland. He shoots a lot of high end, new cars for promotion.

So 3 of us cruised around for an afternoon looking for places to shoot a new German GT car which is coming out soon.. And found amazing locations, and this particular spot suited my ol' tech1. My car was dirty as hell, so the next day we spent 90 mins washing and polishing (goddamn basketweaves) and headed back up.

Result: (might have to scroll through the pics if he has uploaded more)

Yeah that's the summit rd in the background, SS Summit West, about 1km before my silly video starts at.

Look at his other work too. It was so great to learn about the full professional side of photography. It really is much, much more than having the right settings on the camera. Such an Art..

That's a lot of writing for one photo! Then again, it took 3 hours to do. The full res version is special, very special. Might have to frame it!

  3. I dont even know what a top 3 is, anyway ill be mature here and keep this thread back on track.

I love how you actually used some capital letters and withheld text speak in this post, to reinforce the use of the word 'mature'. Otherwise it would have been a train wreck!

    Keep it up boss.

  4. As Ian doesn't have insurance and the other party were at fault their insurance will have to pay.

This is the thing.........As the other parties insurance co does not have cover over Ians car they have NO legal right to Ians car, so that being the case they CAN NOT write it off.

Oh, forgot to mention that the situation was the same as this, I only had 3rd party, they had full insurance, was 100% there fault. Their company bought me out for the value of the car and I got the wreck back for a song.

  5. To save writing something massive and technical that will just get laughed off like above, I have this picture.

350lb/in springs (standard e30 front springs are 115 I believe), -3.4 degrees of camber, 1mm of toe-out (a very, very, very small, quite standard amount of toe-out), 24mm sway bar, and Michelin Pilot Preceda tires on 32psi cold. Doing some, hate to use this term: Trailing braking into a corner.

Look at where the outside edge of the tire is, it is getting scrubed to death. This poor set of tires gets abuse like this every weekend, and has done for a year almost. Could increase the tire pressure.. Could increase the spring rate.. Could run more camber.. but it's a daliy driver too, so one or two compromises have to be made.

That's why there is wear. There is nothing 'fundamentally wrong' with the set up. It works an absolutle treat, especially on the track. Will have to use the Iphone's G-force meter and see what it can do on a skid pad. Then post it back up here sometime.

And crikey, it's like I murdered some jews, relax.
