WTB: e30 Coupe Driver and Passenger Seats (Coupe)
bmw.maniac replied to bmw.maniac's topic in Want to buy
Thanks man, but I was thinking of just getting good cond. seats because the fabric on mine is already shot. -
I came home from Uni to find that my brother has been driving his drunk friends around in my 318i Coupe and as a result screwed the reclining mechanism thing in the passenger seat, meaning the seat won't stay upright. Both seats are pretty shot so I'm looking to find a new set. The colour atm is that standard grey/black - Anth-somthing I think. I would be keen to investigate sport seats/leather options as well. I'm just north of Thames so can travel to Auckland/Hamilton/Tauranga areas Cheers Eddy

I feel for the guy. He stole $18,000,000 from a large bank which was insured and every cent was covered. He will spend years in prison and his name is ruined. In comparison, Mark Hotchin ruined the lives countless people and yet he is sitting pretty in Paratai Drive.

I am personally opposed to any sort of mining. Even today I can still see the long lasting effects on the delicate Coromandel ecosystem from the Thames goldrush (underground mining) in the late 1800s. Mining rapes the environment, no matter how "safe" they claim it is. The risk is too great just to make a quick buck.

Off the top of my head NZ, Italy and Russia are the only country which seels them completely unlocked, and they are all basically the same price in NZ dollars. Unless you want to jailbreak it.

If you think boats are expensive, don't get me started on baches! Rates, maintenance, interest on mortgage (if you have one) could just about get you a cheap holiday in Europe every year.

A nice brand new Porsche Panamera Turbo driving over the Kopu-Hikuai last week. The lady knew how to overtake in the thing too! Sounded awesome.

The new Macbook Pro is due to be released in a month or two with intel's new processors and double the ram. Don't buy one now, wait for the new one (like me!!) edit: woops, looks like you traded already.

Autoglym Bumper Black and Bumper Care are excellent on faded e30 trim pieces.

That's the very same email I received. Email them back and tell them to get their head out of their ass - you will obviously want to view it before bidding

People on TradeMe are idiots. I did leave my contact number on a car listing once, and TradeMe sent me a nasty 'warning' email about it, so I rang up the 0900 number and abused them about being so ridiculous; as I obviously wanted to view a $7000 car before buying. They apologised and then said they were wrong and that you are allowed leaving contact numbers on car listings :S
-
Wow. They were just having an innocent laugh at it, no need to get tense.
-
At least it's a manual. I'd rather have it than a 520i auto.

You don't see this everyday coming up for sale
bmw.maniac replied to 318Touring's topic in TradeMe discussions
The rules are confusing and always changing. They were when the last time I checked them out that if you had owned the vehicle in the country of origin for 6(? - maybe it's 12) months or more you could import to NZ and register without requiring a conversion. After you do this if the car changed owners within 5 years of importation it will void the permit and a conversion will be required, and you can only import an X amount of vehicles (1 every 5 years or something like that) per year under this rule. On the other hand, if it was first registered in the country of origin (registered, NOT built) more than 20 years ago it is deemed a classic and can be registered without requiring a conversion. -
Probably a great bargain from Germany when BMWs were incredibly overpriced here in the 80s

I actually like going to the dentist, my dentist is amazing and really nice and gentle. My only colourful experience was smashing (or breaking in half) my two front adult teeth on the slide at primary school. He said it was more messy that if they were just knocked out. The result? A good glassful of blood loss and two root canals on my front teeth at age 12 - nasty. Other than that, i've had nothing major really; 4 teeth out for braces and 3 fillings. I don't think the injections are that bad

Bob McMillan bought Johnstone BMW in 1985 (who bought it off Ross Jensen in '84), and I was pretty sure that all three never sold bikes?

What an ass. Anyone who has life experience would know that rust is probably a few years old. Tell them they were negligent in carrying out the inspection, they'll love that word.

Really late HB! I didn't log on at all yesterday. Good to see you had a good day. Cheers

Anyone interested in swapping Black for Blue europlates?
bmw.maniac replied to fred_'s topic in General Discussion
Putting a vinyl sticker over a purely aesthetic part of the plate will cause no harm. -
Getting a vodafone sim card to work in a 1998 740i
bmw.maniac replied to Hi-Tek's topic in Electrical system
All Sims come in the credit card size, but you snap them off to put them your phone. So buy a new sim and put the whole credit card sized plastic bit in (with the sim still attached) and it should work. -
Thanks man. On a side note, I spotted a mint looking NZ New Green 325i Touring in the downtown carpark, and it had a few goodies including 15" Weaves and Tan Leather seats (including the rear). Didn't get a photo Carjam

WW1 was when Kaiser Wilhelm ruled Germany and the Germans torpedoed the Mauritania (sp) when it entered German controlled waters with their brand new U-boat. The Mauritania was loaded with rich Americans and so it retaliation the US entered the war. WW2 was with Hitler, the Holocaust and Pearl Harbor etc.
