    E30 318i Touring

Every e30 would, if they weren't something like $120 from the dealer... EACH!!
  2. Wrong wrong WRONG!!! LTNZ don't go off manufacture date, they use the date FIRST REGISTERED. My family has imported many American cars, so we know the all the details of the 20 year old rule. A friend of a friend once imported a 1986 Corvette in early 2007 but got in over here and the papers said 1st registered in late '87. It's still sitting his shed unable to be registered, unless he exports and re-imports. He's waiting for the law to change (which is going to happen soon) so he can register it under a 'rare and classic' title.
  3. I think it was on Trademe a while ago, I think it's Luxor Beige. It looked INCREDIBLY mint for those kms, in fact I was shocked when I saw the picture showing the speedo. It would have to be one of the few that were looked after properly to reach that sort of mileage.
  4. The factory floor mat has a hole for the turny clip to go into to lock into place. Not trying to be a smartarse, but a tiny bit of thinking outside the square would help if you clip is missing. For example you can buy that non skid stuff that you put under carpets, i'm sure that would help.
  5. Another vote for the '91 320i The M20 (in 320i) is a strong, reliable motor, compared to the M40 (in post '88 318i) which is prone to problems with hydralic lifters. Just make sure you get the cambelt done in the M20! M20s also sound a hell of a lot better than the M40.
  6. That is the greatest story i've heard in a long time!
  7. E30 318i '88 (M40) I have a strong smell of petrol. It's quite bad when its cold, but is still present when warm. I notice it particulary when I turn on my fan after school, and its quite overwhelming. I was backing it up the driveway today (fairly steep) and I stood out and crouched down and and sniffed under it the car and it was very, very, very strong. As strong as the whaffs you get when filling up. Petrol consumption however, seems relatively normal. 10.5 l/100km (is this too high?) or 480km for 50l for 100% town driving, mainly driving to school quickly (but never thrashing) when i'm late. I'm aware this could be a number of thing, all impossible to diagnose here, but i'm just wanting some weak spots of the e30 fuel system/lines so I can investigate futhur. Cheers, Eddy
  8. That interior is sooooo cool!!! White leather FTW
  9. What condition is the original stereo in? Do you have code cards and does the tape player work? I'll take it if yes to the above
  10. Same, and with Maths on Monday and Physics on Tuesday I shouldn't be!!!
  11. Wow, great car. Probably the best selection of opyions i've seen. OBC, colour-coding and leather sport seats, all on a NZ New car? Has that leather just been redone? It look suprisingly new for a 18 year old car!
  12. I rang up Ticketek this morning. Almost all the internet-only PRE-SALE tickets have gone, but they are waiting for the Top Gear people to confirm exact numbers so they can release more on Monday at 9am, which is when the official 'public' sale is.
  13. That's just pre-sale. See they're not offering Diamond and A-Reserve? Or have they sold out already? Gosh
  14. I'm talking about the 10 press launch cars used around Europe, built in mid '82.
  15. Just checked my old e30 boook with lots of pictures. The 10 or so first e30s (all 320i) that were built in '82 didn't have them; a 323i built in '84 did have them; a 325i convertible built in '87 didn't; and plently of early Alpina models did. Maybe only the flash models got them?
  16. I actually really like that 'yellow' interior!
  17. Are you referring to side indicators? Every e30 I have ever seen has them.
  18. You can't call that pre 90s can you?
  19. Hot! You must have a super awesome grandma. Mine has a borebox 2000 Daihatsu Sirion that's just ticked over 20000km. Keep it!!!

    Obama Wins!!

That is a disgusting thing to say.
  21. Jap imports have km on the speedo. It's most probably a UK import, but has been here since 1999 according to Carjam.
  22. I love that interior!! Good luck with the sale.
