  1. I think $5000 for a 318i with a problematic Jatco is a bit on the high side.
  2. Well why are you "cutting corners" by reseting the light by yourself?
  3. The last panelbeater I went to somehow managed to fry my alarm, then lied about it, and then blantanly wouldn't answer/return any of my calls.

    Veitchy

That's funny, last I heard he kicked her in the back fracturing a vertebrae.
  5. Welcome Pretty sure than causes a vacuum leak with causes the engine to struggle. Please be more specific when naming your model, "1900cc m 2000 model" doesn't tell us much and leaves us guessing.

+1 He's a dog. He broke his girlfriend's back and all of a sudden he's the victim. Oh poor him.
  7. Please please PLEASE use fullstops. I had to read your post 3 times before I understood it.
  8. I would have though new would be the only way to go, seeing how weak they are.

    4x4's

My family bought a new petrol lwb Nissan Patrol way back in 1993. Although I remember it, I was obviously too young to remeber the good points/bad points of it (we sold it in 1999 for a Chevrolet Suburban and regretted it terribly.) But, talking to Mum and Dad, these are the points I can get from them after owning one for a 6 year period. * Diesels were gutless (Dad thinks the turbo ones hadn't come out then?) * Being a 4.1litre petrol straight six pushing a 2,800kg brick, it was VERY thirsty. Think $600 a month fuel bills back in 1995 (Gas at .80 a litre) but then Mum was using it as her daily and she did like "the feel of the grunt." I think consumption would have been around 20ish l/100km. *It was very reliable, nothing apart from regular servicing when we owned it. It is interesting to note that these models regulary reach 400,000km. *It was relatively quick off the mark, but was sluggish when overtaking, but definately better than an equivilant diesel. * Dad regrets buying a Manual. The auto (4 speed?) was slow and pretty out-dated. * It was one of few 4x4s back then to have 7 seats. * It was an absolutely fantastic offroad capabilities. When we first bought it, we were driving to Wellington and decided to go offroading off the Desert Road and got told up when the army 4x4 finally caught up. * Tyres (Desert Duelers?) were bloody dear. $500-$600 each. But it was very, very, VERY cool. (According to Mum anyway )
  10. A lot of the time it is the switch. Take it out, pull it to bits and clean it.
  11. On the US forums there is usually a guy with access to the database and will get you your build sheet for you. I got mine in 2 days
  12. Sorry OT. Tomo, where did you get your car cover? I would like one, I don't really like parking a sunroof E30 on a slope in winter, especially after spending $1K getting all the rust removed!
  13. Somehow I don't get it how German plates are illegal and yet every Ferrari/Lamborghini/Bentley/Porsche under the sun has either no front plate or a tiny, unrelective 4x2 inch sticker as a plate.
  14. Is a bimmersporter, check the photo Photo
  15. Model? 330i? If it's the same engine used in the late e39 530i, it has a stupidly weak rocker-cover gasket, which cracks and dribbles oil onto some hot shield causing a burning oil smell.
  16. Can be improved! Official BMW Model and Type BMW 325iA/4 (A/4 means Automatic and 4 door - sedan)
  17. $188,000 in the second quater of 1993 is worth a grand total of $267,580.14 in the present day. Wow. $188,000 in 1993 would have bought a nice rental house!

    Faded paint

Don't get the Super Resin Polish, it's not that good at restoring colour. Their 'Paint Renovator' would probably be best. It's okay by hand and absolutely amazing with a power buffer. But be careful!

There is a NZ distributor located in Nelson. He sells Autoglym stuff on TradeMe
  20. And the scary thing is that within 15 years everyone's camera will be able to take photos like that.
  21. Some crooks are idiots. I had an old Holden Barina parked on my front lawn. One night I forget to lock it, and I came out the next morning and the door barrel had been wrecked with a screwdriver. It was unlocked, and the only thing of value in it was a phonebook.
  22. I swear it was 25 years after a model was last made, ie 25 years past 1991 (could even say up to 1994 for some e30s). Can someone confirm? Google search brings nothing.
