  1. Are you sure that sound is not just the power steering telling you that you are reaching the end of your steering rack?
  2. Thats awesome. Nice to know something works!
  3. Haha thats a bloody solid ad, love it! Reminds me of this, I read it in the paper yesterday morning: Cracked me up. Good on the Aussies I reckon, have got the right idea. Peer pressure is an excellent motivator, just ask anyone that smokes. Reminds me of about four months ago when I saw a couple of guys in a 1990's Starlet watching a couple of girls in short skirts cross the road in front of them. The guys were waiting at a red light and as soon as it hit green, they revved her up and dropped the clutch to achieve a four second FRONT wheel spin, only to ram into the back of a SUV which had stopped because of the traffic jam in front of them. Bloody hilarious, the girls cracked up laughing and started yelling words that shouldn't really come out a lady's mouth towards the guys who looked and I bet felt like complete pillocks. Damage to the SUV was nil, damage to the front of the Starlet was they pushed it off the road.
  4. So tough. Best CGI ever, the way those transformers moved so fluidly, damn! Sits pretty close to 300 for me as the best movie so far this year. Btw Oceans Thirteen - shitloads better than the second, nearly as good as the first.
  5. I haven't touched RSS so far, but if there was one for bimmersport I would.
  6. http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/C...5836270.htm?p=2 I realise its probably bs, but what do you think? Is it just a resistor or whatever like the other crap off ebay? Those promised gains don't look so bad. Cheers
  7. Dunno if its been posted before, came across it today and thought it was pretty cool. BMW 1-Series Kermit the Frog Advertisement Looks like more fun than a new Golf to me. Actually I think old Clarkson said that a few months ago on TopGear. What do you guys reckon: Golf or 1 Series?
  8. Apparently on the newer e36 like mine, the Jatco computer tries to be all tricky like and remember your driving style. So if you drive like a granny, it will "learn" this and next time you slow down to a stop, it will stay in second gear. Apparently, sometimes this "learning" bullshit goes a bit haywire. My problem was exactly as ozzy described, feels a lot like the gearbox is confused about 1st and 2nd. There was even a short period where if I put the pedal to the metal, it would go past the usual rev limit, scared me a bit. I hadn't heard about this software flashing stuff, doubt it would be worth it. People have just come to accept that auto e36's have a rough 1st - 2nd when cold. Its a fairly minor flaw, unless you happen to be one of those sad buggers who commutes through Auckland everyday.
  9. Sounds exactly like my old problem! See my thread http://www.bimmersport.co.nz/forums/index....mp;#entry115372 I took it to Aceoautomatics in Christchurch and they charged me $90 to reset the auto computer. After that I took it out for a bloody good thrash and it was away laughing. Now its as smooth as when it came out of the factory
  10. Can be easily found on emule. Don't think there is a torrent.
  11. Just out of curiosity, whats your name and what car did you drift?
  12. 97 BMW 320i Auto I run BP Premium 98 Octane - its the only 98 Octane in the South Island I believe. I get around 450k a tank round town, 650k traveling. - I think thats right, its been a while since I've checked. 65L tank I think. I figure $3.25 extra a tank over 95 is peanuts. 91 Octane feels noticeably sluggish. Watch this site for prices if you care http://www.pricewatch.co.nz/

    Office Chairs

I second that. Works for me. Just make sure you get the right size.
  14. I'm in need of some bonnet struts for my e36 too. Don't suppose anyone else has a second hand set lying around?
  15. When the name is released could someone please post it here.
