I think mums S3 has this done to it. Whats the name of it? I seem to recall seeing something like Dura-Seal maybe on it? It makes is easy to clean and dont have to worry as much about it. Lovely CSL

Yea that was the other option, I dont really care about controlling the ipod through the unit. Has anybody done it via the stacker controller? I guess its a case of finding the wiring diagram / pin set up and modding a stacker cable to suit?

Hey all, am looking at finding some info on a e36 stereo like the one pictured below. Im a big fan of keeping the car oem looking so am wondering if there is a way to connect a AUX cable to it somehow? Just run the cable into the glovebox. Am guessing the only option is through the CD stacker control somehow. Are there any kits out there thatll do this? Also what is the model name of this stereo? I cant find much on google without specifics. photos the same model from a pic on trademe cheers

Its pretty scary all these stories going around eh. Scares me a bit, being as my car is parked up the drive but still close to the road. Im always really careful when I crank my stereo, always turn it down a min so so before I park up. Im kinda paranoid about it but worked hard for my car, def wont be leaving it in the garage!

Nah not the GTI-6, just a little 1.4 manual phase2 with 65km on the clock. Was really really tidy! Actually drove that 325 yesterday, felt like a really solid car but wasn't a motorsport model and body was a bit rough (well could do with a respray in parts) but its probably a good buy for 5 or so. Im just after something tidier to start with, and not too keen on the red leather like that one had.

manual, 318is, 325, 328. Prefer a coupe and M spec. 150ish KM NZ new

Hey all, Ive tried to search but cant find what Im after. Feel free to delete this thread if im posting in the wrong place. What I want to know is where in Auckland can you get pre-purchase inspections done by somebody who knows their way around BMWs? I only plan on looking at tidy NZ new BMWs but want to get it checked out regardless. Am still thinking e36.. Cheers

Recently been looking for a super clean e36 but havnt found much out there and am keen on not spending too much so looking around for a e34 as there seems to be in good supply. Prefer nz new with really solid history. Im pretty keen on a facelift with leather. Dont really need a 540, its more to run around town so dont mind less power for more economy. Hey all, Since my 306 was written off Im in the market for a new car. Am keen on a Golf GTI 16v but thought Id see whats around the BMW side of things. Am quite the e36 fan. Im a looking for a very very tidy e36 coupe, prefer manual and M spec. NZ new is important to me, ive been burnt by dodgy imports before. Whats around that isnt on trademe? Cheers, Nick

Ive been watching this car for a while now and since my current car has just been written off Im seriously in the market for a replacement. Has anybody checked this out? The interior isnt the best colour but could live with it. Thoughts? Is this a fair price? The only A3/S3 that we get with quattro is the S3, and even then they aren't a full time 4wd like the larger a4 up.. They are fwd untill traction is lost, like the golf R32 and various other 4motion VWs. Check out vask.org.nz for some more info but Id be much more tempted by a VW Golf mk4 gti, have nicer seats (recaros) and are much cheaper, also a load easier to find in manual. Try find a NZ new example, there are a few out there. Ther are a few things that people would reccomend replacing/keeping a eye on but im not 100% sure what these are, DVs and coil-packs ring a bell. nick
