Looking to buy a 2004 E46 320i Msport. Can someone please look up the build sheet to confirm this is a factory MSport: Chassis WBAET16040NG54092 Engine 226S-20245606 Want to confirm have not just changed wheels, steering wheel and door sill plates. What else should I look for ? Thanks
-
Thanks Jared, that is what I was looking for, *Glenn* has said the same. Bugger according to Dog & Lemon, the M43 was replaced in 2001 with N42 looks like I'll need to consider 320/6.

Thanks, yes I had a look.. I want 2004+, Msport, <120km. Good luck with her sale.

Good for you.. did you try Swann ? I pay $390 for full cover including Track Days and a valuation of $15k

Recommend you give Swann Insurance a call.. https://www.swanninsurance.co.nz/Insurance/Pages/Classic-Car.aspx Classic Car option is very comprehensive, even offers Track Day coverage and has no mileage limitations, and fairly priced.

Recommendations for a Semi Slick to be used purely for trackdays

Go for the Toyo R888 as used exclusively in the BMW Race Driver Series on the E30's. Brilliant tyre in wet or dry, although they do have designated 'wets'. -
Have a look at SWANN insurance, $305 incl Track Day Coverage, no mileage limit, full cover $15k for my E30 race rally car.

+1 for Dale Perry's Rally DriveNZ !! 160kph+ on single lane gravel road, lined with mature pine trees, no armco nor kitty litter, and the comforting thought of you bend it = you fix it. Was an adrenalin blast !

Yes at last weekend's BMW Race Driver Series Round 5 at Pukekohe, he ran wide at Jennian Turn 1, drifted across the grass then gently tipped over in the sand trap. Being a Volvo there wasn't that much damage, bonnet, top of windscreen and passenger door mirror folded a crease into the door as it went over.. mirror bounced back fine

My top radiator hose connection broke during the racing at NZFMR last weekend. (check out the #8 wire repair job which lasted the final race). So I need a new radiator; '86 320i L-Jet manual. Secondly like a '86 320i Motronic exhaust manifold (4 bolt). Cheers

Targa 2013 - starts at the Dotcom Mansion
HappyH00ker replied to OLLIE's topic in General Discussion
Yes it's the Moro car, previous owner worked for Cadbury who sponsored a Top Gear Moro Road Trip.. I wish.. No the 202kph will have been 2010 Dunlop Targa with previous owner, as the E30 runs out of road at these tracks, don't know about Taupo which has longer straight.. -

ditto, my MONIT reports my E30 has hit 202kph somewhere, certainly wasn't in my hands over the past 2 years at Hampton or Pukekohe.. my guess was the 2010 Targa. I've done a rough 2013 itennary mileage comparison to 2012 and each day total is different yet the o'nite venues are the same. Yes last stage is Taupo Motorsport Park. -

yes serious 200kph policing ! The TrackIt devices would be going off all over Canterbury ! -

Good for you, yes I missed out on the Possum Bourne Memorial tarmac day, will definitely budget for that next year. There will be other car club tarmac rally's around if I look harder.. Yes I heard that rumour too.. was in Wanaka this year skiing, so called over to check out Tony Quinn's Highland Motorsport Park @ Cromwell - awesome ! Spoke to Tony who repeated the rumour; NI & SI stages finishing at HMP ! Being the Targa 20th Anniversary, would be a huge event. -

Same, after watching for too long, Robert & I entered our first event ever; the 2010 Dunlop Targa in a well sorted Peugeot 106 XSi. We shared the driving, goal was to finish the 5 days and secure a prized finishers medal, but we also won the Index of Performance - Modern.. In fact our whole team podiumed.. SInce then targa's have been too expensive (2010 cost ~$20k) so have been crewing. I bought my xTarga 2010 E30 for BMWRDS & like you dual-entered this year's Targa RallySprint, which was a blast. We were on the road ahead of you and in your in-car footage. This is my first event with Graham, who still has his 106, races his E30 on the track in the BMWRDS & AkCarClub events, and competed in the Targa RallySprint. Agree Targa Tour is a great way to also enjoy the same roads as we compete on, in any road registered car. -

I'll be there not in mine, but co-driving this time with Graham MacDonald in his E30.. Looking forward to it ! The beauty of our BMW Race Driver Series E30's is they are road legal, so all good for track and road racing. If you haven't done Targa, it's a must for your bucket list. Think of all those back road blasts that you wish you could do legally.. well imagine 200kph limit for 4 days across the Nth Island, you won't stop smiling Great little towns open up to you for breakfasts & lunches, fantastic cars, picturesque scenery, Tui Brewery, late night rebuilds, early starts, adrenalin-all-the-way... Come watch, then Do it. -
Swann has an agreed value which for me has not changed in 2 years, and no mileage limit. They are keen to involve car clubs for a discounted price..
-
I use Swann Insurance, really inclusive policy, agreed value and they include track day cover ! They understand classic cars and those like us who own them..
