  1. The master cylinder is leaking internally on my E30.  I'm was wondering what you guys think is the best option?

    1. Rebuild factory cylinder: Should be cheapest and not too difficult.  But wheres a good place to get a refurb kit?

    2. E32 Swap: This is a bit cheaper than buying an E30 cylinder new from FCP.  Looks like it requires some modification to the hardlines.

    3. E90 Booster + master cylinder swap:  Abundant, cheap, and will future proof a 24v swap.  Has anyone tried this? Looks like it has been done before but its not well documented so I'm not sure whats required.

Love to hear your thoughts and experiences!

    Cheers,

    Andrew

Don’t have one, but how are the Momo tyres?

You should be able to get one from a wrecker, I’ve seen a few being parted out.

I go quite easy on them since its just the family car.  But no complaints, no issue with grip, noise or wear so far...

  3. Hi Team,

I'm looking for a replacement front wheel on my E70.  Mines got a crack - so i'm hoping to look for a replacement before I consider getting it weleded.

Please let me know if you have one for sale.

hey Gaz, the adblue is giving me the nightmare on my imported X6, already burnt $1K with Continental BMW and still nothing is fixed and they insist I bring it back for more diagnostic so they can continue to work on the "process of elimination". They refuse to give me quote to replace the SCR injector and NOX sensors, which are the key components of adblue and could solve the problem. I would really appreciate any solution or recommendation to a reliable workshop in Auckland!

I would suggest you talk to Joe Clifton at Eurosurgeon.  They are big fans of the BMW diesels and know what they're doing.  Just don't expect them to be cheap, however they'll probably still save you money in the long run as they take out the guesswork.

  5. Hi Nicki, your x1 (regardless of engine size) should be running on premium only (95 or 98).  Ethanol blends or not is not critical.

They tend to knock and run poorly on 91 and you should feel a significant improvement in performance on premium particularly under load.

Personally, I don't find any difference between 95 or 98, so I would run on whichever is available.
