Was wondering how elastic the price of petrol would be to bimmersport drivers, and what price would make you buy a hybrid/diesel or "small car" I think I'd be round the $150 per fill mark (about $2.50/litre) for the 328. Then I'd probably get a suzuki swift or similar for going to work!

I was in Dunedin last week, and had 3 days at a conference, not too much time to cruise the yards. Would have loved to make it to the agm this week, but couldn't zip up to dunedin. Hopefully will be able to in the future... Tim

Got a 3.0 Subaru Outback, so all wagoned out... Still liking that red msport in Auckland I'm in Dunedin - so will go and check out the local yards

Thanks for this Gave them a ring -this looks fantastic 99 BMW 540i S5 Schnitzer. This car is NZ new and may be the only one in NZ. Is 6 speed manual, sunroof, rear window sunblind, comfort seats electric with lumber support, sports suspension,Schnitzer alloys with wider at rear, phone. Has travelled 143000km and has a full service history. Are the km's and issue???

Very nice! Maybe I should go for this and keep the 328 as well

Great comments, thanks Looks like it's test drive time...

I thought this was going to be tricky! If I had an XR6/XR8 or SS commodore up my @ss which one would show them a clean set of heals (in a completely socially responsible way of course ), I guess the 540? I think the V8 is tempting me...

Think I need to find some and do some test drives. There are a couple of jap imports down here at the moment 530 M-Sport 540 M-Sport Blue The Blue 540 is pretty tidy. I've never owned a V8 and I love the sound of a straight six in anger But I think everyone needs to own a V8 at some stage! Mind you I'm not adverse to buying something along way away (Auckland) - cause I think I'd have to drive it home (I'm looking forward to that drive already!)

Love my 328i but baby number 2 is due soon. So I may need 4 doors in the near future. So I think the next move is to an e39. Has to be an Msport probably Year 2000 on. The 530i from what I've read is meant to be fantatsic, but so is the 540i. NZ new or is Jap import OK? Red 540 Silver 530 Look forward to some advice...

Ok, I've managed to get some pics. The frame fits in easily, and needs a screw at the rear. The ashtray at the front takes the light no probs. Then just mix and match the cupholders and coin holders A H 2 Go/Pump sits in the holder, but is not secure, the glass bottle is a bit wobbly. The Starbucks is held in a Gorilla grip and looks like it would withstand a 4G deacceleration - so it does what I want. It also has coped with the 2 year old walking on it.

All arrived safe and sound from the US of A took 10 days. Very easy install. Just need to find a centre armrest now!

Hi The 328 is getting a bit of attention at the moment, got the cooling system sorted now I would like to replace this front windscreen valance (if thats what is called?) as it is perishing. My heater blower fan is squeaking/squealing on speed 1 and 2, and I think that it lives on the drivers side under this valance? So I think I should replace it? Can anyone please advise me on where I can get these bits? Thanks in advance

You have to have coffee in the car! Especially if it's an early start for a drive to Dunedin!

Thanks for the link Just ordered one of these, so will be able to report back how it goes. Payed 22USD for shipping so I think all up $108 NZD

What would be the better option, reborn RHD M5 or LHD M5 ? http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/C....htm?key=925755

This was on TM last year (i think), not sure if it sold or this is another attempt at selling. I'm tempted at $5k I think the "chassis" was a donor 535?

All sorted - new waterpump today, looks like I had been a very lucky boy that it hadn't disintegrated while driving with enthusiasm Thermostat done as well

Went for a drive up to Queenstown and back today, no probs at roadwork stop/go's and then dawdled around town for a while when I got back, that usually would have had the needle climbing. Just did the cold fan check, looks like it's a keeper - thanks for that.
-
Well it would appear that was the fix I needed - ole fuse 41! Still think I'll do the water pump and thermostat. Thanks again gannetboy
-
Thanks for that pearl of wisdom gannetboy - #41 blown - need to go for a blat and see what happens.
-
Thanks for the advice so far, I think I'll go and stick my hand in the fan and see what happens !

Hi The 328 is overheating when sitting idling for a few minutes, or stop start driving in town. Everything is fine on the open road, needle is rock steady in the middle of the guage. Oh and I'm loosing coolant. need top up fortnightly Just hit 100,000km I've booked it in next week to get sorted. I think a new waterpump and thermostat are no brainers, but I was wondering about the viscous coupling on the fan and a new coolant reservoir. Second opinions actively sort. Thanks

Hi try this link http://www.e36coupe.co.uk/forum/index.php?...835383b34b0f9a7 Tim

Thought this was really useful to have on this site. [Thanks to edd_jeddie at www.e36coupe.com] might save breaking bits. There are 8 screws that need to come out. The top 4 allow you just to remove the airvents and lock mechanism for the glovebox. Don't forget the 2 hiding under the small covers - flick out with a small screwdriver. The lower 4 will allow you to remove the glovebox to expose all the electronic goodies hiding behind the glovebox. You will need to remove two wires for the glovebox lights. To reassemble I found it really easy to attach vents back to glovebox and slide the whole lot back into place. Tim
