Hi Anyone got any advice on buying a Z4 please. I was going to get an MX5 NC with a 6 speed gearbox as a "project" car, have got sign off from the boss for toy purchase :-) I have discovered that there are Z4's for sale from about $9K . Should I hang out for a manual? NZ new vs Import? Or is the auto worth getting? 2.2 vs 2.5 vs 3.0? Is bigger engine better?. There are some UK import 6 speed manuals about - do I go near them? Thanks for any feedback.

Your comment got me looking for some pics of the convertibles with hardtops. Wow - might have to see if I can locate one for the winter Quite like the 2 tone look and does it turn it into an M3?

Thought i'd try night pics with IOS7 on the iPhone. Love the new forum - and easy to attach pics...

Nice! I learnt to drive in one of these.

Just installed this into the new car. Pretty straightforward. Plug and play at the back of the headunit. Only hiccup was having to disconnect the CD changer in the boot before the headunit could find the Gateway. Primary using BT for streaming from iPhone. I decided to mount it in the centre console so I can plug a USB stick in I want to listen to MP3 and also use the charger cable for my iphone if I need to. It's great between the snow showers! especially with the electric roof. We go to Alex and Queenstown heaps so will have a chance to cruise as the BMW Gods intended.

Orient Blau - I have people tell me I have a black car, purple car - but I agree looks fantastic.

Hi finally can come back to Bimmersport. Liberated this 330Ci NZ new 2002 vert from Wellington last week. Had a great drive down the island and even had the roof down from Timaru back to Invers. I think this is an ex CHCH car? Handles great, sounds amazing - I'm a happy lad. Looking forward to summer and the kids love getting in the back. 504586-001 by dentpix, on Flickr 504586-006 by dentpix, on Flickr 504586-002 by dentpix, on Flickr

Hi I was in Dunedin yesterday looking at 328's but spotted this Alfa 166 Never had an Alfa, but this is a very pretty car and the interior is "bella". Sounds amazing. Should I run away now, or take the punt? NZ new and FSH, it hasn't had much use in the last few years. Look forward to your comments as always.

Hi I spotted this car up in Alex, I'm slightly interested even with it been mellow yellow. These special editions were made in South Africa, but I don't see that as a problem. I have tried to find some reviews about the 318is and there isn't much online. Seem that they are fun to drive and handle great and don't drink too much fuel. But my concern is about the power, going from a 328i and 540i is the engine going to seem underpowered, or is it a case of 'driving' it and using the gearbox? Anyone with real life experience? thanks

Didn't know we had this m3 in town!

I've been with XNET - service has been bullet proof for 4 years. Speeds are great

They had him out after lunch so we were allowed back in - oh and the ceiling hadn't collapsed...

This was a little unexpected at work today - office is a no go :-)

Well, there is a ton of cold air over Invers still - everyone north of here won't believe me when I say it hardly ever snows down here and if it does it hardly ever settles... Except for yesterday we still have about 10 cm on the lawn but it's starting to melt. So have made the obligatory snowman with the kids and had snowball fights. I have been for a "drive" in the Tribeca and confirm it is very competent in such conditions. Main problem seems to be roof collapses as the snow is very heavy, stadium southland a mess and a local decorating store just had the roof collapse inside the building, seems to be new flat rooves with probs. So hopefully cold air moving on, as it's been fun but tomorrow will be lethal if roads freeze.

Hi I know there are few Audi owners around here. Any thoughts about this - i.e bargain or don't touch it with a barge poll? Audi S4 1994 Thanks

Hi Thinking may liberate this car from the North Island Does anyone know this car? E34 Thanks.

I have spotted your coupe - real nice but the 2 doors are an issue thats why I flicked off my old 328 coupe.

Hi Well it's been 6 months since my last Bimmer and I still miss the 540 and the C4 just seem to be lacking something and the Tribeca is great for family trips. Anyway was checking the watchlist and there's an e36 328i on it - think my wife is feeling sorry for me. So not being shy to make the most of an opportunity have done a bit of surfing and now not sure if I should go old school e36 or try and get a e46 (needs to be a sedan with the kids). I have spotted these contenders NZ new e36 or Jap import e46 and finally NZ New 318is I look forward to your helpful advice as always

Hi Been doing a bit of research - looks like GPS is the most accurate, even if you take into account corners, ascents and descents - hopefully will find something from a manufacturer to support this soon! http://www.caranddriver.com/features/02q2/...al!-feature

Both my Garmin etrex and TomTom One give the same speed with 7 satellites. The Garmin is accurate when I am on my MTB i.e MTB speedo matches GPS speed??
-
Hi Just wondering about the accuracy of your car speedo vs a GPS unit. Does anyone have any idea how accurate the GPS indicated speed is. If I have cruise set on 110 - GPS says 100km/hr (am I playing with possible demerits)?
