  1. Almost up to 2500 views on Trademe.. Hoping at least one person wants to buy my car Only a few days to go now. Laurence
  2. Do it. You can always store it at my place I will take good care of her when you don't drive her. Laurence
  3. Have now compressed some of the photos from the photo shoot this weekend with Brett. These should be a lot easier to upload and view. Laurence
  4. Guards are original.. They do look a little wider however I think it's the BBS wheels that make them seem wider. Laurence
  5. Will start a new topic tomorrow with compressed files.. Sorry these were way too big. Laurence
  6. Thanks.. Really looks that part and adds so much coolness to the engine + the sound. Laurence
  7. Not that I would ever rev her that much but we thought it was some good insurance for the engine.. All the internal parts could easily handle 8000rpm but better safe than sorry. Laurence
  8. She is now on Trademe. I have also decided to reduce my asking price and have a lower reserve price (close to start price). PM me for more details. I am available on cell (027) 4262941. Laurence
  9. Hi Guys, Link to my Trademe auction is: http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/C...n-240711380.htm After some thought I have decided to reduce the buy now price to $44,900 as I feel this is most reasonable given the modifications + performance upgrades. Someone from Bimmersport please buy her so I know she will go to a good home (PS I don't mind making a personal delivery even if it's ages away from Welly ) Too much fun to drive her!! Laurence
  10. Just finished a photo shoot of the M3 (for my trademe auction). Many thanks to Brett!!! The pictures are awesome and 100x better than anything I could do. Thought I'd post up a couple to start with and will add more as I can. I'm working on a slideshow to music but will take me a few days sorry for the picture sizes. I tried to compress them but not that technologically savy. Laurence
  11. Rebuilt by a company in Auckland.. I will have to check with the mechanic but I understand it's a company that specialise primarily in rebuilding steering racks etc. Laurence
  12. stunning day in Wellington today!! with much help from Brett (the man behind the camera) we managed to snap some very very cool pictures of the M3. I will have these posted up in a few days, all going well. Laurence
  13. I have spent over 35K just on performance upgrades etc. since I bought her. 48K is the price I am asking which I feel is very reasonable given the work that has gone into the M3. EDIT: I forgot to post earlier that I have receipts for the work and will provide to the new owner. In the last fortnight I have spent over $8000 to complete rust work and minor work for the W.O.F including a completely rebuilt steering rack. Regards, Laurence
  14. Thanks guys. I really really have looked into every other option but it comes back to me selling the M3. I will be advertising her on Trademe this weekend after I take pictures etc.. Since I first took pictures ages ago I have spent countless hours cleaning and upgrading bits and pieces. I will most probably include a youtube link in the Trademe sale as I plan on taking a 1-3min video just to show what it sounds like to rev her past 5000rpm's with the airbox I can't believe how well she drove at Taupo. A whole day on the track and the oil temp + water temp NEVER budged over halfway, it was unreal how nice it was to drive. I forgot to mention I am also running competition grade 15w50 Motul Oil which is the best in the business. (At over $200 for 6L it is top quality stuff). Laurence
  15. Thanks for all the nice comments guys!! It is really hard for me but I know its the right thing to do and will be way better off for it. Now all I need is for someone to buy her like an M3 with CF Airbox is meant to be driven Laurence
  16. Hey guys and girls, I put this in the General Discussions topic and hoping it can stay here as there will probably be some lengthy discussion on the sale of my M3. This is possibly the hardest thing I have had to do but here goes.. Some personal stuff has come up today and it basically comes down to the fact that the most logical thing for me to do is to sell my very much loved e30 M3. I struggled with this the whole weekend but in the end it came down to my M3 vs. being financially secure and being able to renovate my House. I guess I don't have to remind everyone what I have done to her since I bought her 4 years ago but here goes. Full engine rebuild (1000km's ago) inc. - Full 2.5L build with Schrick 284/276 cams - 2.5L crank and running gear - All internals replaced (timing chain, chain guide valves, you name it it's been replaced) - Hi compression pistons (10.5:1) - CF Air Box with 46mm runners - MoTeC M48 computer system (electronically governed 78000rpm redline) - Aftermarket Vertical baffle kit for the oil sump (under the oil pick-up) prevents oil starvation for track day use. (The engine has just had a full 1 1/2 days of dyno tuning and road tune costing in excess of $1000 by a MoTeC expert with replaced TPS sensor) BBS RS 17 x 8.5 wheels (fully refurbished and imported from Germany) - Toyo R888 235/40/17 rear (with spare) - Bridgestone Re001 215/40/17 front (both have only done 1500km's and are almost 100% like new with hardly any wear) Custom Recaro Interior - Recaro reclinable seats custom trimmed in leather and swede (with M3/// stripe's) - Matching rear Recaro seats reupholstered to the original foam inserts (professionally done) Car Audio - DLS Competition 3-way front speakers - EAudio 4 way Amp - 20 farred competition Capacitor - Pioneer CD Player with integrated MP3/Usb (IPod) outputs. Personalised Euro Plate [1987M3] The vehicle has been through, and passed ALL entry level compliance certification and was literally picked to pieces by the inspectors to check for defects/defaults. It had a few minor things like blown bulbs etc to replace and also a rust repair. The only rust was in the front left jack point due to a cracked jack point during its previous ownership. This repair work was professionally repaired by 'The Surgery' in Wellington (full pictures taken and paper work provided). ALL WORK has been independently certified by an LTSA inspector and passed A+ standard. There has been no expense spared on the M3 and it runs like a dream. I will have pictures available soon as well as some short videos. Airbox + 2.5L engine + Cams = Pure Awesomeness!!! I have just finished a 15000km weekend from Wellington to Taupo which included a day of 11hrs driving Wellington -> Gisborne - > Whakatane and I still wanted to keep driving at the end of the day it was that cool to drive! Price is by Negotiation as there a potential buyer may not wish to purchase the Personalised Plate etc but I am looking for 48K and I am happy for discussions in the thread but I would prefer PM's to discuss buying price/test drives etc. She currently has 62000 original miles on her. I believe that the price is very reasonable given the 35k+ I have spent on the M3 since I bought it 4 years ago. Thanks, Laurence (I will have pictures taken soon but bare with me as this was something I decided today and I am nor fully prepared with a whole raft of pictures of my M3 yet)
  17. It was an AWESOME day!!! Glad to finally get my M3 out on the roads and give her a good drive around the track.. Only negative thing for me was my 4.1 diff was too short for the twisty Taupo infield but it should run better at Mansfield. I found myself hesitating between 2nd & 3rd most corners.. 2nd gear was 10-20kph slower than Ollie & Dylan in their M3's and 3rd was too low on revs exiting the corners. The 135i was super quick and so much COOL!! Nice drive back last night too!! No traffic on the roads (maybe the Wellington trains were working for a change LOL) Laurence
  18. which company dude?? (PM me if you like) Laurence
  19. How about you meet your boss in the middle somewhere?? Maybe suggest to her that you are willing to take 1-2 weeks of leave before the end of the year however you want to ensure that you also have an adequate amount of leave saved up so that you can have another holiday sometime in 2010 when YOU want to take it. Just like your boss doesn't want all your leave showing as a debt on her books, you don't want to be screwed next year when you mates decide to take a 2 week holiday to the mountain and you can't go because you have 6 days leave left. Laurence
  20. they let me buy it for the R888's even thought they have been on the car for a while. but i did originally buy them from Tony's. Fark!!! i got a second puncture today!!! somebody doesn't like me LOL LUCKY it wad fixable.. Haha the guys at the tyre shop were cracking up. Laurence
  21. they will replace the tyre if it gets punctured/damaged under "normal road conditions" no matter how much tread is left, provided it is W.O.F standard. So, for instance, my puncture was not repairable so I would have been covered for a brand new tyre free of charge. Laurence
  22. Lol. it was $12 a tyre to insure them.. they cost a little more than that to buy Laurence
  23. On the way home from work in the M3 and I got a puncture in my tyre. Really really crap. (curse people who litter on roads!!!) I managed to limp the car in to the tyre shop but the nail had gone in to the tyre too close to the sidewall to repair safely! I was pretty gutted about it as I'd only done about 200km's on the tyres and R888's are not the cheapest tyre around! I've also been having a few problems with the R888's rubbing the front guards on full lock as they are a little too big (rolling radius) so I decided I may as well drop a wheel size. Back home now, 1 set of Bridgestone 215/40/17's later. GUTTED!!! At least I have a spare R888 now with only 200km's on it (and one bung one for the wall on the garage, to remind me to buy their stupid tyre insurance lol Paid $12 a tyre and insured them for replacement through Tony's Tyres in case I have a similar issue in the future. Laurence
  24. She is now fully road legal and registered Who's up for a cruise next week?? Laurence
