Just to clear things up. polypropylene = material in clothing designed to wick moisture away from body and keep you dry and warm. POLYURETHANE (PU) = flexible plastic material used for bodykits etc Propane - American word for LPG Polyurethane kits are superior to fibreglass kits in that they can flex, however they are far more expensive to produce and there are only limited styles available on the market. While easier to fit they do require a lot more prep when it comes to painting. Because they are designed to flex you need to put on a special primer otherwise the paint will crack as soon as the kit moves. FRP(fibreglass) kits are easier and cheaper to produce and as has been mentioned there are various quality kits around. Our kits seem to be at the better end of the quality scale, we have fitted a number of the E36 kits now and our panelbeaters have commented on how well the kits fit. cheers Johno

The new Eagle F1 Assymetric arrives here in the next month, it has been getting rave reviews around the world. I can check it out at work tomorrow to see when they arrive if you like. I also have alot of Sport Maxx tyres in stock, when you have decided on the exact size you want let me know and I will work out a deal for you and you can pop in to our Wgtn branch. PS what size tyres are OE on the E30 M3? PPS have you thought about Toyo's?

We have 19" tyres in stock starting from $169 fitted and balanced. They are a pretty cheap option and really would recommend spending more and getting a better quality tyre! let me know if you would like me to quote you some pricing cheers Johno PS I presume you are running 215/35/19's?

have plenty in stock $30 for a set of 4 in alloy, cheers

I cut the two rear mufflers off mine and replaced with straight pipes. It didn't make any 'performance' difference but gave it a nice burble. If you are in Auckland, go and see Lance at Pitstop Greenlane, he is awesome.

The rumours are true, I just spent 2 weeks in Rarotonga and Aitutaki in the sunshine. not a day below 25 degrees! Then I come back to this crappy weather!! Unfortunately I forgot to leave my password for the other guys to check my PM's, but it was bliss not having a single work call or email for 2 weeks. Those wheels must have arrived while I was away. I will check them out tomorrow for you guys!

FOR SALE: H&R E46 4dr lowering springs!
zenetti replied to bmwownage's topic in Brakes, Suspension & Steering
Doesn't sound correct at all, might pay to check with the manufacturer. Never heard of magic springs that can distinguish the engine size/weight of a car and automatically adapt their length/rate to suit. -
glad we got that all cleared up and can all be friends again - haha

depends on what your CB is. It will be either 72.5 or 74.0. If it is 72.5 then E39 wheels will work with locating rings. If it is 74 then ONLY E39 5 series will work.

sorry if I misinterpreted there has been so much 'bad advice' given on these forums that I think I just 'snapped' lol
-
There really are some BMW guru's on here aren't there!! Why would you recommend this? Running -2.5 degrees camber = plain stupid on a road car! Not too mention huge camber wear, reduced grip due to the small contact patch of the tyre on the road, etc
-
If you insist on getting it done, make sure they pull all the silicone out of the guard as well. If you put your fingers just inside the guard you can feel it all the way around. If this isn't done you will just be wasting time trying to roll them. E46 guards are double skinned, hence the extra time and care needed to roll them properly. If the guy is coming to you make sure he has a heat gun otherwise send him packing! Rolling the guards isn't going to help anyway because the rear wheels on an E46 M3 are a 5 series offset and no matter what you do WILL NOT FIT!!!! If you are the mood for giving away money I can think of far more worthy causes

H3LL NO!!! they are Dot com wheels. The car shouldn't pass a warrant technically speaking, however it is a bit of a grey area at the moment as WOF guidelines state only the shoulder of the tyre must be inside the line of the guard. I think from memory there is also something else that relates to the tyre width/rim width combo and also where the wheel sits in relation to the tyre. Hence the so called grey area as it causes a lot of confusion. At work we have seen these car quite a few times in the Auto Trader and has led to quite a bit of discussion. In the end we decided that we would NEVER let a car go out like that, as it could come back to us for failing a warrant. IMO whoever put those wheels on should not call themselves a professional wheel and tyre shop. ps the car has been lowered!

How come you didn't go with slotted rotors? They also like like standard pads - surely you will go to an EBC or Endless pad?
-
anyone we might know?????? There have been a few strange posts on here recently
-
either that or just put the fronts on ONE side of the car only, you know you can only look at one side of the car at a time
-
If you keep an eye out for another set you could use the fronts and sell the rears!
-
In short, as 3pedals said they will not work. No matter what tyre you put on they will still rub. E46 M3's run a 5 series offset on the rear. Unfortunately you have bought yourself a couple of lemons.

muppet +1 what it really is the correction for the camber of the road so that when the car is driving it sits level
