  1. so can anybody confirm what a stock standard 320I Auto diff is ? my car is F/L does that make any change to it? My car ( F/L auto )does aobut 3000 rpm @100kmh is that any indication as to what diff i have?
  2. Apart from the lines needing to be made up. Are the old bushes and old shifter mount included with the gearobox even if they are worn out? Would this would mean the box only needs a shifter to be complete ?
  3. Hi Silver Fox I am quite interested in this gearbox, you even mentioned you had it for sale in one of my topics. what is the condition of the gearbox and do you know how many miles it has done? have you had it in a car and did it shift well? if it hasn't been in a car does the input shaft have any slop in it ?

    E30 parts

Giday there how much is the reconditioned Auto selling for ? and do you have receipts for the work ?
  7. All i need now is a manual gearbox to go with those flywheel bolts that should be replaced. is there a muffler brand/type anybody could reccomend for the 320i twin inlet exhaust ?
  8. Hi guys Recently after joining this forum i was driving along and my temp shot up on my E30, Pulled over right away and got towed home. After pulling the head the headgasket showed some signs of leaking at cylinder 6. After having it hardness tested it read full hardness and the surface was nearly perfect and only needed the lightest skim only to remove old gasket material. i am very impressed with how well built these old engines are, inspecting the bores and still seeing the hone marks at 150,000 kms they seem to be built tough.I was surprised that I wasreccomended to use new head bolts. yeah so with a new camblet and water pump and all the upper gaskets repalced the engine shouldn't need serious work for quite some time.
  9. I did this to my E30 320i it didn't seem to make any performance difference, and with the stock muffler it made it sound horrible at low revs but it sounds great at 4000+ RPM. My stock muffler is well on its way to being totally stuffed though
  10. Thats good news on the driveshafts But it looks as though getting any manual conversion parts at all will be very difficult
  11. Hi guys Im new to these forums and have had my face lift E30 320i for 6 months now and while its down getting the head rebuilt i have some questions about transmissions. 1) How much of a thrashing can the auto box take before it gives up 2) Are they pricey to have rebuilt and does somebody have a cheap spare laying about? 3) providing the gearbox came from a M20 engine can i use it in my E30 and still have the shifter/linkage line up. 4) is the drive shaft from the Auto too short or too long to be used with the manual gearbox, and i assume the auto drive shaft has the incorrect yoke ? i understand the Getrag 240 was the factory manual gearbox for these cars what other models are known to work Current Slush box is just fine but i have a feeling its the next on the list now that the head gasket is leaking also is there any good things to do while the cylinder head is off the car ? ( aside from hardness test, skim and valve seating ) If somebody can recommend a mild cam grind to go with that would be great.. ahh piss this post is in the wrong section can this please be moved to the general section
